I don't think I have to prove that paying a complement is akin to the actions of a rapist.

I think I have grounds to feel a little disappointed that you would accuse me of having such intolerable thoughts.

So, "you're stunning" is the same as rape?

What a sad and twisted world that anybody could even compare the two.

Lost count number of times comments have been posted on this site regarding the attractive nature of various women - so I guess we are all about to commit one of the worst criminal acts possible.

Every single heterosexual male has commented either privately or publicly about attractive women (and those who claim not to have done are lying) - so I guess the entire male population are all about to commit one of the worst criminal acts possible.

I'm not accusing nor singling you out specifically Robbie and I apologise if you think that .... I'm highlighting a complication of the view in several posts made whereby I am able to ask the question "what is the difference?"

Whether we like it or not sexual harassment is illegal in any environment and more particularly a thorny subject in the workplace where the employer can be held liable for permitting the unwanted actions of their employees.

I don't know this woman or her background I am countering some of the argument of some views that's all.

With that answer I'm not so sure you understood the context correctly. There is clearly a wide spectrum when it comes to sexual harassment and I am suggesting that even though these points may be at opposite ends of that spectrum..they are nevertheless using the same premise which is "she did her hair \ make up \ low cut dress \ mini skirt and therefore she deserves it* (*put in place anything from any point of the spectrum here)

I was asking Mav a question....that isn't harassment of her. Confused

Nice of you to start thinking and questioning along my argumentative lines though Wink

Do not know but to me that comment (stunning picture) is more clearly aimed at the technical aspects of the picture also because it is true that there are some awful pictures on likedin and that is a very professional one.

It seems that when he wants to give some sexual connotations to his messages the guy knows how to do it (look at the comment regarding his daughter)

There are still certainly a lot of "unacceptable and misogynistic behaviour" but do not see this like that and it is certainly a good way for her to get visibility
It takes all sorts (to make a world).

Had she been stood next to you and Mav in the workplace and you'd said that she'd see you on the bread line before the week was out.

All it takes is for someone to report it on her behalf..........

... absolutely right James but it's not only in the workplace that the law applies .... had she been present anywhere ...if she was a member of this site ...if she was my employee then naturally Mav, I and anyone else would be vulnerable making any comments about specific individuals.

But I don't know her , you don't know her ...nobody here I would imagine knows her so we can discuss it and her in this manner free in the knowledge that it is unlikely ever to be challenged. Now if she was here then this page wouldn't exist because the site and individuals could find themselves liable and more importantly would we even consider it right to make such comments in their presence or knowledge.

Mr. Lawyer made the big mistake of highlighting to her in a direct message that he already thought what he was about to say was going to be inappropriate but he said it anyway. Very Happy

Or maybe he just sent a message to somebody that is much more interested in her visibility and career than female rights

PS: but it is also true that linkedin is becoming more and more like facebook for certain people

Careful, we're dealing with a Feminazi here. She's probably spent the last few days trawling the interweb looking for discussion on her plight in order to take further action in her quest to turn women against men and therefore end the human race. Thumbs Up

Anyway, she aint stunning. It looks like her old dear cut her hair with a bowl on her head!

I bet shes a bloody lezzer too. And if a woman she found attractive had told her she was stunning, she would have lapped it up. Makes her the bloody sexist.

Would rather bang his daughter.

Thumbs Up
