I went into the apple store here and it was packed. This places are heaving every day and night of the week. What other high street chain could claim this?

They are arguably the best at marketing. The best actual product, that's debatable - definately not if you factor in the price you pay.Mark.

......... and the rubbish battery life of a Mac Book Pro. 26 months down the track with mine and I'm in for a couple of hundred quid to replace the battery as the Apple manufacturing process means that the battery is "welded" to the machine.

I have high standards and love the best e.g. Porsche, B&O (although dabbling in Sonos), Rolex, this forum, the Sankey gang e.t.c. so it comes natural to be part of the Apple family. Since I got my new super dooper MacBook Pro I have been using that and not the PC, I turned on the PC last week and it was laughable and quite strange how slow antiquated the whole system seemed, Apple just works and is made to work together, the build quality is fantastic as is the design and engineering, its awesome.

Don't know what your recharge cycles are Bill, but my 4 year old MacBook Pro is still on 90% of original life. I've had 2 year old Windows machines that I had to throw away because they were full of crud, outdated and zero battery life.Justin

Battery life is pretty pants.
I found an old jacket in the cupboard the other day, not worn it for 10 years. I slipped it on and found an old Nokia 3210 in the pocket. Still had 3 bars of battery. Happy days. Mods:

I have repaired a fair few of our iPhones over the years and I have to say the engineering and thought in the design is superb. The fact spares are easily accessible and the phone is serviceable is brilliant.
Apple are great marketers but they also provide a very well made product and a customer service that is the envy of the industry.
I could walk in to the store tomorrow, hand over my MBA with a problem and have it sorted within a day or so maximum. Even get a loan machine if required.MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)
