thanks windsweptislander! well said like you say they cant be that bad ! they have to meet uk specs and safety demands etc . and its a choice that each individual owner has to make but its the same with everything out there a big name and price tag doesn't always mean that it will be better than cheaper lesser known brands sometimes it does sometimes it don't !
and trust me I too have had a bad moment in a Nissan pathfinder aquaplaned off the m8 and spun out of control rolling it and writing it off ,a lucky escape ,and that was on bridgestones ! there are so many variables and conditions that effect tyred differently so its hard to cover every eventuality !
and as someone once said too me ..if their black round and rubber they'll do! (discomikey) blessed are the losers ,for they determine the winners

I have nexens on my navara and found them to be good especially in an aqua planing scenario. My d3 has 20" wheels so was going to go for a 265/50/20 nexen which I can get for £480 fitted. That's pretty cheap especially offshore. Hankooks will be £700+ fitted. It's a difficult choice especially when the ratings on wet and mpg are "C" for nexens which seems pretty good. Decisions decisions!!!
