I used hankook on mine and have done around 5000 miles with no wear that I can see. I will be sticking with them. I had wranglers on before and the difference is noticeable. The hankooks are smoother and quiter and no difference on and off road wet and dry. Can't speek for snow though, didn't get none this year. Paid £100 a corner of the interweb.
Hope this helps

I am now running nexen rodian s all round and I can tell you there is no noticeable difference between them and scorpion's , they seem fine to me and as I use on road pretty much all the time a road tyre makes perfect sense , only time will ell how they hold up but scorpion's wear pretty fast anyway so think they will be as good in that way . think there are many tyre snobs on here! ...abuse probably about to follow blessed are the losers ,for they determine the winners

Not abuse. Just wondering if your epb is locked on and you haven't managed to get above 20mph? Because frankly I would be terrified driving around with those petrified dog turds on my wheels. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

fair enough different strokes for different folks just saying that for the money they seem fine to me ,are there better tyres? ..yes , better quality? ..yes , but they seem fine to me at all speeds and road situations . blessed are the losers ,for they determine the winners

I've never understood why people buy poor tyres.
The tyre is the connection between the car and the road. It has to endure all sorts of forces when braking and cornering whilst providng grip in wet, dry, hot and cold conditions. In the case of the Disco, its doing it with a 4x4 weighing 3.5 tonnes. A few meteres difference in stopping distance could be the difference between having an accident or avoiding one. Imagine if that accident involved a child.
Sorry, but saving a few hundred quid that might compromise the saftey of my family or other road users is just not worth it.

I agree with you but sadly not everyone can shell out for top brand high price tag tyres there are so many different people with different situations so it's unfair to bash people who are on cheaper tyres, it's a choice between worn illegal tyres or something new and you buy what you can afford if I have no worries I'd have all terrains top brand all round and all the other bells and whistles, it's just not always possible and everyone is in a different boat and things can change at any point, at least they must be better than worn beyond the limit tyres! And like I say I bet if you tried them you couldn't tell any difference. Not trying to start a debate, just standing up for the skint disco owners club blessed are the losers ,for they determine the winners

I bought my D3 two weeks ago from Stratstone LR in MK, they put on four new Nexen Roadian's as part of their pre sale check. I assumed they were crappy but they threw them in for free (and without telling me,mid already paid for the car!) so I must'nt complain. My Merc ML had Scorpions and lasted 8,000 miles till they were bare at the edges. Absolutely terrible tyre. I'd pick Nexens over them!!

Moo, it seems brand is no guarantee of the performance you seem to want. This test (http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-t...-test-2012) seems to show that two of the cheapo brands you hate so much actually do quite well.

Not sure how a small compact relates to a 3.5 tonne 4x4.
Can't also see where I said I hate cheap tyres. What I said was about buying poor tyres, and there are plenty out there. Like it or not there is more often a correlation between price and performance.
Your money, your car, your choice. As I said, I won't compromise and want to know what I'm buying and that it will do the job I need it to do.

They're a significant step up from the execrable Accelera Iota, granted. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Fair does flapjack for opening yourself to an almost inevitable torrent of abuse
While we (myself included) tend to slate the cheaper tyre offerings out there, at the end of the day they have to reach a certain spec to be sold in the UK.
At least you have the same on all corners, so all effects should be even, I once rolled a car, a contributing factor was having good tyres on the front, and on the back.
