Blackvue DR500GW-HD ...its here

Well its arrived ...the wifi version of the blackvue .

So far realy impressed ....top quaility video as usual ...easy to use software and the wifi for geek factor Shocked Laughing

wifi range is not huge ...but i can sit upstairs in my office and pull films off ...or watch live footage ....and live is pretty much instant ( much better than the gopro 3 wifi i just got )

the power lead has a slightly different end on it ....the old blackvue ones fit ...but the new one fitted better so i swapped it over .

Never realy bothered with sound before ...but the magic eye you wave your hand over to enable / disable is a doddle to use

Few pics

Slightly bigger

Fitted

Much better field of view

I have a power lead that comes from the fuse box that runs up to the rooflining .

from there it has a female ciggy socket fitted and a power block .

That way i dont have to cut the power cable that comes with the blackvue ...i just plug it in.. up under the interior light cluster

Yes it works ... I used the old one from my 380 while I set it up .

Because the 500 has a cover over the end were the sd card is ... The new power lead is slightly resesed to fit in the cover

It will be interesting to see how you use it, wifi is the standard now on new stuff like GoPro, Samsung cameras e.t.c. but I must say I don't really use the wifi unless possible to line up a remote shot. My Blackview is installed left and forgotten about until something happens, this morning was useful for instance, but just wonder when I would actually want to see via wifi what I am seeing out the windscreen, maybe useful for caravans if less lag than a GoPro. I suppose viewing what has just been recorded without firing up a laptop could be useful, just trying to justify the extra expense Wink

Please keep us updated I may very well be interested. By the way is the mount different as well to the 400?
