All LEDs fitted. 8)
Have to say, the original D3 rear clusters look awesome with the big red tail light LEDs in! The colour intensity of the red tail/stop lights and the amber of the repeaters is something else. There's none of the sub-second fade in/fade out with LEDs that you get with halogen bulbs; illumination is immediate. Supplied resistors also work fine on the rear repeaters.
Now, to source some LR D3 xenon headlamp units to do the front end and wait for the revised reversing LEDs to come in...
When you come down to Southampton, Ian, you will not miss my D3 on the M3!
Great upgrade.

The resistors are supplied with connectors that you can use to attach the resistors to the existing rear cluster wiring loom. The connectors are of the Cable Lock variety; kind of like these:
I put some heat shrink tubing over the exposed wires of the resistors before using the cable lock connectors to wire the resistors in parallel to the new LED bulb. The connectors just snap shut and strip a small amount of insulation as they snap shut. I did not mount the resistor to any part of the light as I understand they can get quite hot if used for prolonged periods of time. They are just suspended by the wires either side, to allow the air to circulate around them. If this turns out to be a problem, I will look at mounting them somewhere where they will not damage the plastic of the rear light cluster but they seemed fine like that.
I'll take some photos next time I have the rear clusters off to fit some reversing LEDs.
They seem to work OK. No bulb out indication from the speaker in the dash (fast flashing).
Photos will follow, but not for a while...
