On SWAMBO's old PD Audi A3 2.0 TDi, 2SO made a big difference - car was much quieter, smoother, fuel consumption improves slightly, etc. Every time i took it in for its service, the Audi mechanics would comment how nicely ours drove compared to other TDIs they serviced. Note that for most of its life, only 500ppm was available.
On our 2010 Puma 2.4, it also makes a difference, but the improvements noticed on the Audi were not as marked, only a bit less clatter.
On SWAMBO's new 2014 Audi A3 1.6 TDi, I do not use 2SO, as I am not convinced that it does much on a modern CRD engine.
On our soon-to-be MY11 D4 SDV6, I am not going to use 2SO, for the same reason mentioned above.
However, on ALL my vehicles, I use Wynns Diesel cleaner every 5000km.

Acteveo 2SO is as rare as hens teeth in the UK, so at suggestion of Opie Oils, I've started using Millers Oils Diesel Power Ecomax fuel treatment - 75 ml per fill up - cheaper than Actevo 2SO and really seems smoother with a much smoother start
with respect to how much 2SO to add - ratio is about 1:400 (ISTR) - or about 1/3 litre for each fill up
Spec is JASOFC, 100% mineral (which is why I used Actevo)

So can any mineral 2 stroke be used? For example Comma? or does it have to be Castrol?Im a mechanic and have Snap On Solus Ultra should anyone need help.

I only started using Actevo a few years ago because of recommendations on this site.
I understand that (a) mineral is best and (b) JASOFC is the correct spec - so that's all I know.
Have to admit - the Millers additive does make the start up feel smoother and running also feels better - note the word 'feel' - no scientific testing - just a couple of K miles

2T oil - Castrol Power 1
Recently purchased a 1L bottle of Castrol Power 1 'clean burn' 2T oil. It states API TC+, JASO FD, ISO L-EGD. However it doesn't say whether its Mineral based or Sythetic. Anyone else purchased this or used it as a fuel additive?
Ive checked the Catrol website for a product data sheet but still cant determine if it is mineral based. Failing that it'll stay in the shed and possible used for the lawnmower

No idea, hence the question.
I still get an uneasy feeling when adding anything to my fuel including Redex
