does anyone have any ideas on possable fixes that can be addressed at kerb side before the dreeded call to the garge. for the suspension issue

Gentlemen can u help please but I have a fault code of c1a20 pressure increase too slow when filling reservoir. What is the problem and cause. How do I fix. Many thanks

If you can get the live data confirmed you may find it is not able to reach the corect pressure and the compressor is on the way out.
It could also be the air dryer is blocked not allowing air through. Try dying the beads.  “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

There is also a compressor repair kit (some seals and valves I believe), but just like drying the beads, it's not guaranteed to fix the problem. Could simply be a tired compressor. When I had the C1A20 fault I replaced my compressor and took the old one apart, could see nothing wrong with my untrained eye, and dryer beads were in pretty good shape. Dennis

Only owned my disco for about 1month but today heard a loud hissing from back and had a suspension failure warning light come on . New to this site so anybody got any I deals whether quick fix or need to spend some cash. Cheers

Take the cover off the compressor and see if there is a leak between the dryer and compressor body. Come have blown this seal when dyer gets blocked. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Hi
can anyone help with a problem with air suspension on a December 2004 V8 petrol 4.4 HSE please?
I get the amber suspension light on  , and a message saying normal light only, sometime after start up, on each journey. can be half a mile, or can be twenty miles, but now happens on most journeys. has been progressively getting worse over the last month or so. otherwise system seems to work ok, compressor starts up when engine started, and runs audibly for about three or five minutes. vehicle will go up to off-road setting or down to access setting fine, and each takes maybe ten seconds or less. the fault light clears after every stop and whenever i start its fine with no light or message. ride quality is fine, with or without the message.
car mileage is 97000. dont know whether its connected in any way but i converted the car to LPG over Christmas, with an Emer BAT sequential kit, had plenty of tech help from Tinley Tech, and then got it fully inspected and certified by a good installer. dont think its connected. but there is more weight at the back now, with the new tank, and a spacesaver spare.
Dont tknow where to start to investigate the suspension light;
I've seen the following issues discussed on the forum
Brake light switch
compressor problems (but mine works fine before light comes on)
dirt in the housing (but dont believe my car has ever been off-roaded)
leaks (but no ride height or ride quality issues)
suspension bushes giving too much play at the rear.
somehow suspect either the first (brake switch) or last (bushes), as somehow the timing of the warning light appearance seems to correlate with bumpy roads or enthustiastic driving, or maybe brake operation, or possibly both.
Anyone got advice on what order to investigate? Clearly you can spend hundred of ££ and many frustrating hours  changing stuff on a D3 suspension, and still not fix it.
any relevant experience shared or help appreciated!

Might give you some pointers.
Try changing the relay first as they are quick and cheap to do.

wow, thanks a million - that's a huge amount of experience and very thoroughly reported. Will try new relay, drying out the drier (i did ford it a couple of times in the winter up to about 20 inches or so) and probably also check out the connector blocks in the wheel arch. probablyy also the brake switch. will keep me busy next couple of weekend assuming i can get permission for the garage time

| Intermittent amber warning "suspension fault" |

I'm getting intermittent amber warnings that go away after 5 min usually from startup. I've ordered a new compressor relay incase it's sticking as I read that can cause this behaviour. Worth a try?
What else can cause this? The handling and ride seem unaffected...

The red suspension light came on today (30 mph max etc etc). I was on the way to get a new air-con condenser fitted. It had new height sensors all round fitted by Guy Salmon in Coventry two weeks ago and had been fine for well over a week. The mechanic fitting the air con put his FCR on and its saying the rear left height sensor !again! (either that or a wiring fault...). At least I still have some warranty with the dealer I bought it from and warranty on the parts fitted by the dealership...
Do height sensors break that quickly?
