Not sure it's being fixed, as I guess (I don't know) that there will be a DIY standard price from BBS for those that want to buy the cable & use the system themselves, then there will be a price that MSV2 owners will set for them undertaking the work.
I guess we'll all have to wait and see. Great potential though Bodsys Brake Bible

I have no doubts whatsoever that the Genesis system will not work, after all computer manufacturers and software companies have been upgrading firmware and computer programs over the Internet for decades now, it's standard practice with American based program's.
Question is do I order a FCR now while they are available off the shelf, or wait until Genesis is released and risk not getting one due to demand outstripping supply It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

What I can see as a good part is, I have a MV licence for a D3 at present on a MSV2
If I get asked to look at a RRS or D4 I can use genesis to give service to them without purchasing the full licence, as it may be something simple like read the codes, or enable cruise control. But as a existing MV licence it gives me the opportunity to deal with other vehicles.

As i have said before, it is my hope and intent to have Genesis benefit everyone as equally as i can possibly make it.
The licensing possibilities with Genesis are extremely flexible and should easily allow me to offer much lower cost DIY equipment and diagnostic capabilities to those that have no BBS equipment at all, right through to providing advanced remote capability as an addition to what MSV-2 MV owners already have and something for everyone in between.
But for now we really have to concentrate on getting the technology, dependability and capability sorted as our main priority.
So the point of providing a live demonstration was so that we could learn things and uncover problems as well as providing anyone interested with an opportunity to see and experience doing diagnostic functionality over the internet using nothing but a regular web browser.
If anyone wants to try it, simply drop me a PM and i will give you the URL and log in details

Hi
Today I had the opportunity, through a link and an access code that Colin kindly sent me, interact online and the Web with a display of a D3 located in the offices of BBS as you see with a webcam, and see in real time as your instructions are received and are immediately effective in no more than in mouse click.
I have found as have managed to connect via Internet to a remote computer and that reacts in real time to any requirement ... I think his idea of universal tester is every day closer and will open new paths to all ...
Thank you .. thank you very much Colin BBS Marco.

I am glad to note that the live Genesis Demo we are currently running has proved its self and has not only successfully been used by quite a lot of visitors from all over the world, but has also maintained it's data connection for weeks at a time. We are already working away on the next stages.
If anyone would like to give it a go, i will keep it live for another week or two and here are the access details required:
Some may see the Web cam feed picture go over the Graphic slightly. This is because the webcam feed we have added just for the demo is fixed size and the main web page is not.
Most buttons are toggles that turn the lamps on and off with each press, but the Gauges take a percentage value between 0 to 100, and the main message display takes a number that relates to a fixed message, up to 255 is possible, but in practice only around 0 to 100 is used.
Have fun and please log out when you have finished playing using the log out link on the top right.
If when you log in you get a message about single instance it means someone else is already logged in and there can be only one at a time.
Had a quick play - very clever Mark.

Hiya all
Well progress has certainly taken it's time, but Genesis is now finally ready and open for beta testing and i am now soliciting for participants.
In it's initial stages Genesis supports limited SV functionality only on a D3, so anyone wanting to Beta test it on a vehicle will need to have 2 things
1) A D3 and you will have to supply it's VIN number
2) A VCI2 and the ability to directly connect it to their PC. FCR owners can do this directly if they have a PC with a 9 pin serial port or else they can use pretty much any USB to Serial adaptor. Those with an MSV-2 will need to buy or make a simple 15 to 9 pin adaptor.
