Dual Battery AUX 12v sockets -drivers side rear custom panel

I have obviously got far too much time on my hands

I have been making a little panel to replace the plastic one that covers the jack ( have also made one for other side ..but thats for my pc )

So here's a basic run down of what i have done so far ...6mm MDF board

Panel template

Small bit of wood cut down to fill the gap when panel is fitted in place

I think it looks quite smart and a good match with the covering ( from local Dunelm ..)

I have relocated my jack to under the middle row of seats to give me more room behind the panel

Blue Led panel meter at the top has volts and amps .
3 x waterproof 12 volt accessory sockets ...the plugs are waterproof and twist lock in place so they cant fall out (also have a rubber seal around them )
Blue LED switches ...proberly didn't need them ..but hey the more switches and lights the better
Ac plug socket for inverter
Small 12v socket ( as used on the Motorola XTN 2 way radio )..can plug an extra charger (or any 12v accesory ) in there

I have also fitted a switch and a LED ( top left) there for my built in Motorola charger ...another post comming on that ...link http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post386334.html#386334

Waiting for some cables to be delivered , then will wire up the back

Fairly straight forward to do ...just time consuming getting all the mesurements right for the cut outs

Hardest thing ....finding small black screws (6mm long ) ..ended up having to grind some down ...3 days locating bloody screws

Need to make a catch / magnet / key lock for the top of the panel ..not decided yet
 G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Stunning job Wiggs....

I was a bit scared when I saw the first photo, but the end result is bloody brilliant.

I'd be interested to see if you can make the back as tidy as the front once the wiring is in place Whistle

very neat - especially the charger jobbie on the top Thumbs Up

Why did you put it in the jack side, I have more room behind the panel on the other side - or is that already stuffed full.

nice install mate

like the install pal,

have you fitted a second battery and split charge relay?

all those extra 12v sockets would be ideal to run 12V 240v inverter. 1500Watt inverter would be great 6to run a travel kettle just great for a nice cup of tea when needed

In the other side ...Pc / tv tuner ...aswell as strops and other bits ..(wiring only temp while testing )

Another reason was that the passenger side has many cables down it already from the pc , rear camera , tv tuner ..

The other side is empty ..well it wont be when my cable arrives from Traxide
