I think I just found the problem... from picture in this post from link below, I do not have the kit installed

Mistakenly assumed that the VIN was giving correct details.

Spot on..
sorry missed your post as had not refreshed.
I guess I will be looking to another outlay for a thirdparty BT kit... suggestions? Is Parrot still best option and is it easy to integrate with AV system?

The easiest way is to use the rear aux input with a lead from your phone, then just select the aux button on the radio. Or the dearer option of the iphone kit.
If you do a search there are quite a few posts on how to do this including watching tv from your phone.
I have an iphone 4s and it has no problems connecting to the LR factory kit.

Hi I have issues with the BT car kit mine is called Nokia CW 7W my iphone says it's connected but the car tells me no phone connected when I pull the voice activation switch on the left of the steering wheel.
Can any one help? Do I need an upgrade or a better kit?

Thanks.

Factory voice control does not control the LR aftermarket kit ( which is what you have )
You can hold the green phone button for a few seconds and use voice control ( I think its only 20 stored names )
Unfortunately you have the basic aftermarket kit which is very limited in its functions G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks thought it was limited. I can connect via BT but when I try to use the voice control it says no phone connected, however if I make a phone call from my iphone the call goes through the speakers. The iphone under BT shows connected but on the radio it shows "no phone connected" so can not pull the voice control button and say " phone name" feedback is "say name" I say preprogrammed name voice control tells me "cancel no phone connected" but I know my phone is connected....
Is there an upgrade or is it better fitting a better kit like the parrot mki9200?
Thanks Wiggs

The voice control dosen't work for the phone because the phone module is not connected in via the fibre optic cables
There is a basic voice control accessed by pulling the green phone buttons
You cannot update the module
You could rip out the old aftermarket kit and retro fit the factory one .. That would give you full voice control .. But your looking at about £300 G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

We've just bought an 05 D3 SE with the fitted Bluetooth. I've tried to pair my iPhone 5 to the car, which worked. However when I make a call, the radio mutes, but then instantly comes back on again - even through the display still says Bluetooth. The phone isn't ringing out on the phone but does show the call as live. Anybody got any ideas??

Thanks for replying - but no it's 2121 as per the manual. All seemed ok until you make the call then radio mutes but comes back on again and the call, whilst still live, doesn't ring anywhere. Bit baffled.....

It has all the buttons for the phone and the cradle. Maybe was an extra installed by initial buyer. Only picked up the car yesterday so learning as I go. It's an 05 reg but not sure when as yet. Just seems odd that it puts Bluetooth on the screen but does nothing?
