How old is the battery? Is Heated seats running before engine starts? I was thinking heated seats connected to Aux battery any suggestions? A few mods... and keeping it all running...Faultmate MSV2

I have used mine for about 12 times with no problems, but now once I have phoned the unit to start and I try again the following day it will just ring out and not answer. The only way I can get it to work is to unplug the GSM unit to reset it then it will work once only again and I have to reset it again. Anyone had this problem or any ideas how to solve?

The only thing that gets reset is the password when you unplug it, have you tried a reset and then re-send your settings to the GSM to see if this works..
I had a funny problem on my GSM the other day when I turned the ignition on the unit should have shut down, it did not and the fans kept running and even when I turned the HVAC off at the switch it did not go off, then after about 5 mins later it would all work as it should, it later turned out to be a setting I had put in for the fans to run on for 5 mins after the FBH had shut down.
I just resent the settings taking off this 5 mins fan run and all works good now... It seems the GSM is a bit flakey sometimes and gets confused.

I am 80% there, got FBH to run for set time of 30min via green wire and multiple runs of 30mins with engine start between burn cycles(afraid of fuel limit of FBH) very nice!!Now for the fan I am missing the step by step guide Soorry i am realy novice at this but Which potentiometer are you referring to and when should i turn it during a burn cycle or before ? A few more questions;
I could not get the Solid green buy phoning probaly because voice mail was still enabled on the sim?
When one change the sim is it as easy as resenting the settings?
Has any one simulated or tested the use of green wire activation if you have no signal( this would be the time to use the manual switch)? This is obviously not the same as removing the simcard I take settings are stored on sim?
Thanks A few mods... and keeping it all running...Faultmate MSV2

Make sure when you insert a new sim that all sim locks and pass words are disabled. Yes to your question on the settings, just send a new text to the GSm via your phone and you should get a reply within seconds of the settings that are now set in the GSM.
I would set the fans to run at zero until you get the setting right on the IPCU ( where the potentiometer is located ). This will then enable you to turn the little screw on the potentiometer one way for a few turns, then when you have done a few turns one way now turn it slowly the other way and your fans should burst in to life, then its just a case of setting the potentiometer to your liking..
If you go to this page below and look at the second picture you can see the potentiometer in the back of the picture you can just see the fan speed adjusting screw in the blue block next to the connecting cable.

I have a switch on my green wire if you look at some posts a few pages back a write up is posted there with pictures.

It is easier to disconnect the plug from the GSM controller and using a small paperclip or wire connect pin#1(black) with pin#3(red), the fans will be powered without the need to run the FBH

Thanks Flack and flydive will try later this week, any comment if you can start FBH with manual switch via green wire, when gsm module can't connect to gsm network ? From what I can work out if red light's flashing you would not get further to start FBH? A few mods... and keeping it all running...Faultmate MSV2

When the red led is flashing it means it's not connected to the network, I found that if your to close to the GSm unit when you dial it up from inside the car it will fail and turn to a flashing red, some guys have managed to get it working again by just re-trying it but I could only get it to work by depowering the GSM.
The green wire is independent of the GSM signal even if your led is red you can start the FBH with a switch connected to the green wire, I just used a green toggle switch that lights up when I turn it on, I mounted the switch in the blanking panel you remove to get to the emergency brake release cable.
Its a nice bonus just to flick the switch and run it if your parked up and its cold outside.
