there is another possibility.
if programmed with a value of 1000, the heating time is permanently on. check that the config sms you send doesnt have anything silly in it (l instead of 1, O instead of 0 etc.)
otherwise its defo forked. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

At last an email to say the item has been shipped! Only 20 days after the rest of the buyers! Loving the power of the TDV8!

Hi All
I am a little nervous about fitting it now after all the hassle Flack has had, I was wondering how may people have fitted them and how many have had problems, perhaps it was 1 in 20 that went duff??
I won’t get a chance to fit mine for another 10 days or so and I was wondering how many members had/have “successful installations
I will bight the bullet in due course, I am sure…..

You can't judge my unit failing if you should fit yours or not. Anybody who works in electronics will tell you the fail rate is not that high in this day and age as electronics have come on leaps and bouds over the last few years., I have just been unlucky with my unit.
I work with black boxes from planes all the time it's very rare they fail. If mine is the only one to fail out of us all who have bought them on group buy then I think thats good.
Just go ahead and fit it .. it will be fine.
Daniel has posted a new unit for me so I should be up and running again soon. Its quite warm at the moment so not an issue.
I have just cut the black wire from the GSM as Daniel suggested and it all works ok apart from the fans.

Oh yes, but they still gives plenty of headaches, fault is there, fault is not there, start up you get a fault, shut down restart fault gone, reset all ok. Remove and send to manufacturer and you get a NFF, man, electronics.....

Hi Flack
Thanks for the vote of confidence I will give it a go, I just don't like cutting a wiring loom that is working well (the car), but I am sure there must be a few of these units around.
Good luck with getting your new unit. I might get a chance at the weekend to sort it but it's more likely next one.

Iain may just gaffer-tape you to the bonnet for that remark I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Hi Very Annoyed
It’s OK for some……..
Unfortunately your electrical man won’t cover my area!!!!!
However I fell very happy to fit it myself, it’s the joys of living on an island!!!!!
I may be in touch with the chief installer Flack or flydive if I run into any problems.
Best Wishes to all

I am fitting my kit but I do not have a yellow wire to connect to the cut yellow/red wire to go to the plug. I have got the long yellow wire for the FBH but not the short wire in the connection clump. Car in bits unable to finish, all the other connections are done except for the two yellow wires. HELP!!
