I have just done the wire mod on the orange wire I will test it tonight at work and see if all works, run out of time as I have to go to work. I have had no trouble with the time duration so we shall see what happens.
Did they say anything about the prog button light flashing, I am still edging to the idea that this might be right that the light flashes in the the system is re-setting it self.
When the guys on this Board get there brains together we can do and sort almost everything.... lol...

Great, let us know, but I'm pretty sure it will work.
I forgot to ask about the prog button light, it was in corner of my my to ask, but I guess I have too many corners over there

Flack wrote:have you left it connected so the FBH shuts down and if so doea it shut down in stages like normal or does it just shut down immediately. And what about the flashing prog button does this have an effect on it.
I only connected the wire for a short moment, there was no need to keep it connected. The FBH shuts down in stages. the fans are immediately turned off. I did not yet check any effects on the prog button. Will do that tomorrow.
There is also a green wire as a dead end from the gsm unit. This one could be used to manually switch on the heater.
If you connect it to a 12v feed, the fbh starts. when disconnecting it immediately stops. If I understand the manual correctly it will shut down after the programmed time, even if you leave it connected.

These need a sim card to operate correct? I'm assuming that it doesn't come with the sim?
What PAYG sim are you guys using coz don't they cut them off after so long if you don't make calls out on them?

The sim doesn't come with it.
I am using a t-mobile PAYG. To keep it alive you need to generate t-mobile turnover at least every 180 days.
So also if it sends an sms, it will extend it's life.
What you need to do is send a config sms to it at least once every 180 days. The configuration sms makes it reply with an sms thus generating the necessary turnover for t-mobile and keep it alive.
This method applies to both t-mobile Netherlands and t-mobile UK. don't know about other t-mobile's around the world

The issue with the red program light may be down to the system trying to recalibrate its self .
Obviously the car knows something has happened and is checking for any faults .
I would suggest if someone has a faultmate or another diagnostic tool .,..clear all the faults and run your tests ...then check for faults again .
It may be nothing , but worth a check
"The motor and flap operation can be checked using the on-board distribution motor self-test function.
The self-test can be initiated by pressing and holding the ECON and RECIRC buttons while turning the ignition switch to the ON position.
The control module will then compare the current motor position with the values stored in the module and will indicate an error by flashing the ECON LED (light emitting diode).
If there are no errors, the LED will go out and the system will function normally.
To confirm that there are no errors, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, then back to the ON position.
Observe the operation of the programmed defrost LED.
If there are errors present, the programmed defrost LED will flash and the system will attempt to calibrate itself." G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Yes, I think you are correct about the green wire, and the fbh running the programmed time when constant power applyed to it.
It could be used for manual start of the fbh with a switch, or you could add a simple timer(no need for the Webasto one) or a remote, for when there is no GSM cover, oh man possibilities are becoming endless.......
@BIG DJ
yes you need a sim card, not included, cannot help on which one for UK, I'm using a prepaid one with roaming.
Regarding the sim shutting down, when you send a programming message to the controller, it sends a SMS back to the master number, or you could send a "Info"(with the capital "I") to it to check the settings, it will SMS back, that should be enough to keep the sim alive.
Or you could take out the sim and make a call with it in your mobile from time to time.

So if you manually fired the FBH with the green wire, would that fire the fans as well inside the car if ignition off? So, if you are sitting in the car , ignition off, listening to radio waiting for someone then you could warm the car up. Equally you could warm the car if stuck in the snow jams we had recently without starting the car up completely (battery charge allowing).
A discreet push button somewhere would be brilliant and easy. This is getting better all the time TDV6 HSE Lux (2014MY)

No bud just send a text every so often or just like Flydive says use the Info sms massage. I have had an O2 sim in my GSm for about two years now and no problems.
Wiggs thanks for tip on testing it out will try it later...

Hi all
Flydive I have checked the cabling and there is no continuity between the orange and the red/white cable, in fact the orange cable only goes to the GSM plug/unit.
It seems like there is a link missing between the orange cable and the red/white one.
There is also a blue and green cable, this is the green one Berndv is saying it will fire up the fans and the heater will run the set time, looking at the English instructions this looks correct. So the next question is, are the suppliers going to set us out new wiring looms as the ones they have sent out aren’t correct?
It would be interesting to see if as Wiggs is suggesting and seeing if there are any faults stored in the car.
Best wishes to all

@Mallo
Thanks, I will relay this information to Danhag and see what's their take on it. Personally I will not replace the already installed harness, too much work, I will just add another wire. Also I guess that if they are willing to replace it there is bound to be additional wait to get it.
@Sturge, I will check that out tomorrow.
@Flack
I just remembered, the controller will forward any SMS to the master number, so any message will do. You should also get a SMS if the credit is running low. If you want to check the settings of the controller send a message with Info in it(remember the capital I)

Received the goods this afternoon. I've been following the discussion and the plot thickens... It seems that there are different versions of the cable harness around. Took a couple of pictures of the one I received with the package. Please check my gallery... If I read the posts correctly, the loose orange wire should be connected with the red/white one.
