Glad to say.... 2 degrees... Nice smell of kerosene type burning and a cloud of white smoke... I forgot how good this thing is...and added a smug grin on my face whilst the neighbour was sat in his car revving it to get warm.. Rolling with laughter
If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

Yup, no problems and right on cue. Very Happy

2 degrees here in the West Midlands. It was great watching the smoke as I sat there waiting for the frost to clear from the heated screen. Smile

And mine this morning, I did however have to clear the fault which registers when the low fuel light comes on and locks the heater out. (doesnt happen on all models) quick fix with my BBS FCR Thumbs Up

Hi every one! (my first post) Very Happy Temp sitting at 6 here, tried it with the oval timer no go unless i prime it using the software first, then it works fine... getting kinda annoying having to take the laptop out every time!

Does the FBH work in it's automatic mode? You might have to wait for a few days to find out as the temp is set to climb again.

Doors and bonnet need to be shut (but windows open is fine), plenty of fuel in the tank and level ground. Engine temp less than 76 deg, outside temp 5 or less.

If it works in auto mode and with the software, then there is a chance that your oval timer integration is not quite right...

OK I resisted for two days now.
1.Do I have a fbh? How do I find out?
2.how do I test it or make it work?
3.what's all the comments about calling your fbh up on its own sim card about?

I've read all (well most!!) of the posts on the FBH but I've a slight problem that I don't understand.

For the last couple of mornings it's been below 5 degrees, HEVAC on Auto, doors closed, level ground, plenty of fuel, cold engine but the FBH hasn't started.

I've a BBS FCR but it doesn't show any faults. I've also tried the fuse out trick but still no sucess.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Not been cold enough for it to run on its own yet, it will only run from the software if I prime the fuel pump first. For about 10 seconds. it will also run from the oval timer if I've primed it before hand. When it hasn't been primed it trys to start get a bit of smoke then a no start fault it goes through its cooling stage and stops. I guess the same would happen even if the car tried to fire it up...

Also found if i blow down the inlet as its trying to start it will light up (without having to prime fuel pump), does this mean its all blocked up inside not enough air flow?

Keep at it Thumbs Up had a similar issue. Had't run for a couple of years. Used FCR to clear the codes then kept retrying to fire by helping blow down the pipe. Eventually after many many tries it burnt off all the old sludge/gunk and it's now 100% reliqble. Also used a dose of Redex Thumbs Up

Mine fired up Thursday morning for the first time whilst I was putting air into the front off side tyre. Right in my face, nearly sh*t myself Laughing

Okay, thanks gents. I'll continue to try and get it working. I like the idea of blowing into the air intake to help it light.
Cheers

Clearly I know Redex is pretty much snake oil for normal engine use but for the FBH I am also a devotee. After using Redex to cure a reluctant FBH (and it took many attempts) I now use it at the start of every FBH season to clear the gunk. The local Webasto repair dude also recommends it, well he says a whole bunch of diesel treatment is good news for the FBH combustions chamber so the cheapest wins.
