And on the flipside.... my VW T5 without a FBH took ages to warm up this morning.
Windscreen took ages to clear.
No heated seats either. Brrr!

All this FBH talk got me starting up just now solely to see if the FBH fired up.
I'm glad to report at 5 degrees, there was the lovely aroma of an almost kerosine like pong and very little smoke. Nice one.

I know I'm sad, but just went to see if the FBH fired up as the temperature had dropped enough...

First time was on Sat then every day this week. Its been as good as gold - no more than a slight puff of smoke and a whiff of burning fuel.
Mine fired up on Tuesday morning. Pulled up behind white van waiting at a roundabout about 1 mile from home and front of the Disco disappeared in a mass of white smoke
Never seen it smoke like that before. And there was a smell of burning too (not the usual kerosine pong - after 30 years working on aircraft I know what that smells like!). Began to wonder if the guys who did my 105K service on Monday had left an oily rag somewhere but had a look under the bonnet later and could see nothing.
Alright now though and FBH has fired up every morning since with no more excessive smokiness Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills
