Thanks Wiggs,
And just to confirm - Do the FBH faults have to be cleared by Faultmate or was remving Fuse 28 or the power connector good enough to reset the FBH lockout ?

Beg to differ but 3 starts with low fuel does lock mine out. To confirm this I have just done it! When I used my FCR it showed 'Low fuel lock out', thankfully 2 second job to clear the fault. Over the past 2 years I have tried every combination to try and unlock my FBH without success, hence the purchase of the BBS FCR.
If I fire up my FBH using the instant flame button on the oval timer, as soon as I turn my heating system off it turns the FBH off as well

So is an FCR the only way to clear the Lockout !?
Some say it is, some say just pull the fuse. There are too many mixed messages !

Or any decent diagnostic kit - I have the oval timer and a reset was only achieved with IDS connected; no amount of fuse-pulling worked. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

DrLex,
I didn't think so as the Fault codes aren't stored in the FBH but in the landys 'brain' surely.
I expect not even disconnecting the battery will help will it !

If you make the loom as per Ian's post, you can prime the FBH from one of the options. I could hear the fuel pump "ticking" when I did this yesterday. Couple of failed starts, then away it went again.
Nice and warm inside despite -9 in chilly Cheshire!
Edited to add: You can also clear the fault codes using the loom/free Webasto software.

As above, fuse pulling did not work for me either, only a visit to the stealer (£60) which prompted my investment in the FCR tool, which has proved very worthwhile (and no I am not on commission )

Thanks
This temperature sensor ... Is it behind the grill? Can ice be applied to it to reduce its reading to initiate the FBH on warmer days during the year, to keep it working? Paramedic, Father, Dog lover and Husband ... in no particular order!

Fitting the timer is the easiest way of keeping it clear of gunk during the summer. The timer also enables you to restet the FBH fault codes too. 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

My FBH has stopped working this morning!!! It was working perfectly last night. I did notice that the engine was slightly slower to turn over this morning and this may have had an effect on the burner. I have checked the voltage at the battery with engine off 12.2v and with the engine running was 14.4v. I may go to halfords today (no one else open) and get new battery just in case. However my question is do you think the fuse trick will work on my FBH?

Fuse trick worked with my car. And I am glad I installed the timer (1533) and GSM. FBH was completely clogged with carbon, so I had to reset many, many times to keep it burning.
A small comment on the fuse trick;
- Wait at least 3 seconds after putting the fuse back in before you press on the flame button again. The FBH need some seconds to start! Don't be to quick.
And adding some "diesel cleaner" makes a BIG different. Easier start up, no smoke anymore, only a moment of white condensation smoke after starting. Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE java black (in Europe)
