Now, now boys, you are all wrong, "I AM THE BEST". , well used to be.
We all want different things from our 4x4's, lots want to go play and there is nothing wrong with that, but a lot more don't, most want whats best for there use and not someone else's.
Big choice out there your choice. Not one tyre suits all.
I am here to sell tyres to whoever want's to buy them.
I must add that this NEW General AT ticks almost every box.
Andy.

Yep - almost every box except the one that says "the seller is able to provide technical information about the construction of the tyre sidewall which was a big problem with the previous tyres from the same manufacturer"
I'm hoping we'll be able to tick this box soon Andy, but you almost seem to be making a big effort to avoid the question 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Nice bikes Ken. My Kodiak 4x4 will go anywhere, as will yours, but the sport bike (raptor 660) is by far the most fun of the two. It's so quick, and still goes virtually anywhere! D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

PaulP,
Please don't forget we are talking about a 55 profile tyre so we can not compare with a 60 profile tyre.
The General AT 255/55x19 is the same as the Pirelli ATR 255/55x19 on sidewall ply's and tread ply's.
I have not tested them running at low pressure as I don't need to.
It's the customers choice if he or she want's to air down, vast majority don't.
IMHO this General AT tyre is the best choice for most and I think General have the lead at present over the rest.
I have driven on both and I like the General best.
Going by the feed back so far looks like a winner to me.
Hope this is of help mate.
Andy.
P.S. You could start a poll to see who airs down and who does not.

Hi Andy,
I wasn't trying to do a direct comparison, just wanted to see if there was any improvement in the sidewall strength compared to the AT2.
From what I can see the Grabber AT, Grabber AT2 and Pirelli ATR all have 2 ply sidewalls, but the AT2 is prone to failure * whilst the ATR appears to be much more resistant (I'm basing this on reports of the AT2 in 18" and the ATR in both 18" and 19")....so there must be something else in the construction/design that contributes to this.
* Just to clarify....when I say "prone to failure" I don't mean they fall apart driving down the road, just that I know lots of people (and there are even more on here) that have managed to damage them with very little effort.
I just wondered if the AT sidewall design was similar to the AT2 or if it had changed. To be fair, you probably don't know either as there doesn't seem to be any information published about it.
No need for a poll as the "airing down" comment was just an example of some occasions when the AT2s have been known to fail - the main problems are found on rocky tracks.
Please don't think I'm knocking the Grabbers - I've bought in total 6 Grabber AT2s and thought they were great both off and on-road. I think that the new AT will be slightly worse off-road, but even better on road.
It does look like a great choice, but I guess I'm just struggling to see the advantage over, say, the ATR which is already known for its reliability.
Cheers Andy

I'll take some pics tomorrow, plus try to get them muddy.
So far so good on the road, but it's not even rained yet so I can't say too much.

Managed to get an hour playing in the tracks near home today.
It wasn’t particularly muddy as we’ve not had any rain in the last few days, but where it was the ATs coped very well.
They were also very good on the early morning wet grass and the dry gravely tracks.
Well pleased so far, just need to get them on the slimy slipway as a final test for my usage.
