i bought a 1/4" torque wrench for the job and was able to use it to do up the fuel pump belt tensioner.

I bought a 3/8 drive and couldn’t get in, did you find it was difficult to use enough force with it being awkward to get a good hold on the wrench?- I’m still suffering with aching arms. It can when others can't,

I've just seen a 22cm bicycle torque wrench which looks small enough to fit in behind the engine. it should help when doing the front belt and oil pump.

It was difficult, i actually tore some muscles and still in pain over 3 months later but that was mostly from reaching the lower bolt on the fixed part of the belt cover.
The range is 5-25nm so was good for all the other torquing as well.

By the time you get the belt on. You won’t care about torque settings
Torque wrench is important for the front belt though

Only yesterday I stripped the thread on the rear timing belt tensioner using my calibrated torque wrench. The engine had a rear belt done less than 3 months ago by a LR dealership who must of over tightened the bolt.
Luckily for me the engine is out of the vehicle.
I used a new bolt from LR and it only engages in the thread by about 12mm I checked the old bolt and it's the same length ideally LR should use a longer bolt as the hole is deep enough.
My wife can always tell when I have done the belts on a D3 or D4, my knuckles are cut and my right arm is all scratched and cut

im about to replace all 3 belts for the second time since i bought the car ( 14 years.. and i'd like to ask whether
a) the oil pump should be replaced, im still with the original one and no sign of problem...vehicle is built jul2006
b) water pump should be replaced, i had changed this 7 years ago..
c) tensioner PQG500250 and pulley PQH500130 for alternator drive belt should be replaced as well (last time done 7 years ago) or i ll save some pounds here??

If you are approaching 240k kms it's good preventative maintenance to change the water pump. As suggested above the oil pump you must change. The tensioners are optional, but if the mileage is getting on it's good preventative maintenance too. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
