Hi, is this service still available? I have a 2005 SE with Bluetooth which I'm thinking of upgrading. It doesn't work that well with newer phones.

According to the instructions on the web site:
"NOTE: If you pair with 0000, then this exchange is not for you. It only works with pairing code 2121."
I currently pair using the 0000 code, I assume this means my module cannot be upgraded?

...also, every couple of months the bluetooth connectivity stops working and I have to disconnect the battery to reboot it. Any idea why this and is there a workaround?

Sounds like you have the aftermarket kit ..which is very basic ... And can't be upgraded .
You could rip the whole kit out and put in the factory kit in
You could use the old mic and switch , but would need a new module and bit of most cable ( it would also need enabling ) G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Really? I have the telephone buttons on the steering wheel and voice activation works works, it's just not that reliable...like most of the electrics on a D3!

So the 0000 can be upgraded! |

From your posts above, it sounds like with some difficulty so to speak, the 0000 Land Rover BlueTooth can now be replaced with a Wiggs version of the newer LR4 set up - great news I would say.
I have a 2005 LR3 HSE with NAV and six CD high end radio that back in 2005, the local Land Rover dealer fitted the LR aftermarket BlueTooth with the 0000 pairing. In other words, I have the two steering wheel flipper switches on the right edge of the steering column and a mike hidden somewhere - I think up by the Electrochromatic rear view mirror.
The existing BlueTooth actually works fairly well for the most part, but is not as reliable as the BlueTooth on newer vehicles. Often my BlueTooth does not always connect on the first call of the day so a second call has to be made and then all is well till next engine shutdown - glitches like that.
I noted that one of 2121 your kits seemed to include a metre long length of fibre optic cable with three connectors that appeared to run from the back of the NAV display unit to the new module included in your kit. One then also had to hook 12VDC power and a ground up as well.
I also note your comment about enabling - that would be with a Faultmate or the new NanoCom I suppose? 2005 LR3 HSE 4.4L AJ-V8 petrol; Traxide Dual Battery; PIAA 2500K Yellow Ion H11 Fog Light bulbs; CounterAct LT-2 Capacitive Corrosion control; LLumar AIR80 Blue clear Infra Red blocking side window film; Liftgate manual release; Schrader Valve "air in" mod to OEM air suspension reservoir tank; Akebono ceramic pads; OEM solid vented discs; LR4 design hitch receiver; Wiggs D4 MOST bluetooth module; Clock on the Dash; 3 Flash signal light mod; Backup Camera; 2015/16 Nav Data update.

You can retro fit the land rover PTI
If you have the old aftermarket kit then you can use the switches and mic ( although mic needs to be moved from the aftermarket loom to the factory loom)
All the other wiring from the aftermarket kit must be removed as it will cause lots if issues if not .
You then need a Bluetooth module ( d4 one is best ) a bit of most cable ( I supply a plug and play one ) and some wire to power the module .
It then needs enabling . Faultmate will do it .. Don't know about the nanocom as iv not been involved with it G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Should the original factory BlueTooth wiring loom you refer be still there even if it was not used, or is it something I also have to purchase and install?
I think there is not much wiring related to the aftermarket kit as I believe the BlueTooth module is located somewhere within the centre console.
Regardless, removal of that should not be any great difficulty but to my knowledge, the factory loom, or at least a portion of it, I think runs from the radio area in the front to the top of the right side rear wheel well where the factory BlueTooth module was to be located.
Your 2121 kit relocates the module back to the centre console area with the MOST cable you supply but it sounds like I still need to use all, (or some portion), of the factory loom at least for the mike?
In other words, would I most likely have to source the factory BlueTooth loom as well? 2005 LR3 HSE 4.4L AJ-V8 petrol; Traxide Dual Battery; PIAA 2500K Yellow Ion H11 Fog Light bulbs; CounterAct LT-2 Capacitive Corrosion control; LLumar AIR80 Blue clear Infra Red blocking side window film; Liftgate manual release; Schrader Valve "air in" mod to OEM air suspension reservoir tank; Akebono ceramic pads; OEM solid vented discs; LR4 design hitch receiver; Wiggs D4 MOST bluetooth module; Clock on the Dash; 3 Flash signal light mod; Backup Camera; 2015/16 Nav Data update.

No .. The mic wires are there in all models ( if you have factory voice control then you will have a mic connected into the system already )
Bluetooth just needs connecting into the most loom ... I fit them at the front because its cheaper to use a small bit of most cable than a long bit .
You could still fit it in the rear .. But you would either have to have a long most cable .. Or join into something with most at the rear ( TV / TMC / DVD )
There is a lot more wiring involved in the aftermarket kit ...hardly any in the factory PTI G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Ok
Just to clarify one thing though .. There is no Bluetooth module connector ( 54 pin ) in the car .. This is only fitted when you order Bluetooth from the factory .
The D4 module has a different connector ( I supply this with the d4 module ) G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
