My father in law has as 2005 ffrr which has rubbish bluetooth compatibility, doesn't work with his iPhone 3Gs, so wondered if this update would work for him ?
I would have PM'd you but I've never posted here before
Thanks in advance

Hi Wiggs
Excellent service, swapped module over in 20mins or so, having figured out the torx bit supplied undid the rear drivers side seat belt anchor and unscrewed trim fixing above to access Bluetooth module. From then on it really was 'plug and play' My exchange module is on it's way back to you in the post.
Thanks
Paul

Yes ...works in the FFRR .. Very very easy to swap ..remove the cubby cover in the near side boot area ...you will see the bluetooth module there . 1 torx screw holding it in place . G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Yes-should have mentioned- now pairs properly with iPhone 4 with having to put in 2121 everytime. Also nice to have phone contacts uploaded.

Whats the difference between this scheme of swopping the module for a firmware/software upgraded one and the other thing you have going on where we buy a new Disco 4 Module to replace the one we already have ?

Option 2 .. D4 module
This has the latest Bluetooth protocol on it .. There for it's going to be more likely compatible with newer phones on the Market.
It loads phone contacts on the radio slightly quicker
It separates phone numbers into mobile / home / work etc ..
The original d4 post was just to show that it worked in a D3 ... I wasen't guaranteed to get any more modules for sale at the time G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Unnecessary quote removed
Got ya, thanks Wiggs.
So my question is do you have any more or can you get anymore D4 Modules and if so are they going to be the same price as Jamie and Harri paid ?
This is my preferred option as my father in law loves gadgets and has a iPhone.

Er- yes.. Bit of a typo- definitely meant without having to type in the PIN everytime. For me it was a more straightforward option and works with iPhone 4 faultlessly
