AS Wiggs has said it might not fix your problem but its your choice if it does all well and good but the only thing Wiggs can guarantee is that his software or module will work.

G4LRV wrote:Hi,
OK, what about replacing my D3 BT module with a D4 one?
Would it give me better compatability with newer phones?
Also what other advantages would it have?
Are they available?
Cheers,

Yes ...the newer modules are very good . You would have to get one from LR
1000 contacts
multiple numbers per contact
showes service provider
shows signal strenght
not a direct swap though ....but very easy G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

HI Wiggs would be great to get some techie input on this issue, can I ask if you know whats happening that my MY08 BT system only picks up my BB Torch after I try to connect before the BT module is actived (obvoiously it cant connect at that stage), then on starting the car the phone attaches itself, with contacts, no problem
I have updated all the BB software without any joy.
I have just re-read another ten pages or so of the thread and it seems all are having similar BB problems, am I interpreting correctly that a MY08 will accept a D4 module and have a better if not gauranteed chance of working
Thanks Wiggs my guess is you are now wishing this thread was closed

unfortunatly it does seem to be a big issue with the BB . There are so many different software versions its hard to keep track of which work and which dont .
I would pop a post up with your software version and see if any one else has it working with that version .
D4 module ..yes a better chance of it working as it has a newer bluetooth protocol . Its not a direct swap though
it may be worth going down in software insted of updating to the latest (on BB ) G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks Wiggs, I tried that a while back and there were users with similar system matches and no problems whilst aothers had the same as me.
Just thinking out loud.....
If the LRBT module is deactivated whilst the BB is first refused connection then it must be the BB software getting a refusal that in turn lets it connect when the LRBT module is activated.
Which backs up your idea of regressing with the BB software until they actually get a version that works, or is BT technology moving so fast that the LR module in the D3 is becoming defunct

Hi Wiggs
Just to say Bluetooth unit safely received and installed. old one on way back to you today. Thanks a lot. Phone now pairs automatically and a loads address book. Unfortunately though unit does not seem to identify caller from address book just shows number, address book names come up first with Mr or mrs etc so not very alphabetical but i am going through names and deleting prefixes (slow task when so popular!!) and does not show service provider name nor signal or battery strength as parrot units do. It is though a great improvement thanks.

Signal strength and service provider is not a feature of the D3 module unfortunatly ... Thats only for the D4 module .
Dependant on what phone you have .... The way he contacts are listed will depend what shows up
Ie ... iPhone you can first name first ... Or first name last G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hello,
Sorry I seem to have forgotten my log in and password to your website to check if you have received the money. I only sent the money on the 18th and wondered when I should expect to receive the blue tooth modular. Very much looking forward to finally being able to use my iphone in the car. Many thanks Nick Gheissari
