Ah, that's a bit more like it. But, the bottom picture seems to suggest that the bracket comes out through a groove cut in the bottom bar of the front grill. Is that correct or am I not seeing it right?

correct - there are a couple of reasons for that (main one being because I bu99ered up fitting recessed lights...so the brackets were already bolted on...and I couldn't be ar$$ed to change it )
But you might have height problems with the bolts on the lights if you wanted to have the bracket exiting right below the grill. Not certain - but check. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
