The lates model you can blank is the 2006 model, I don't think there is a fix for the 2007. I did here something about drilling a hole in the blank plate, but for that you need to put the pipe back. If it works, I do not know.

Hi whamber
Recently I have a problem with one of the EGR´s valve. One day the engine light switch on. When I wento to dealership He told me the right EGRs was fault. He recommended me to change both, a in sort time period the left one would fault.
Take this into account and try to insist to change both.

Hi guy's im new on here so bear with me. i know if you remove the EGR valve pipes at the top end you can put a one penny coin in and blank these off and still use the origanal clips as well.
i have done mine with no probs at all.

I too did this as a "get me home from France" solution, but I would not leave them in permanently, as copper might be affected by exhaust heat or gasses. If it were to break up, it would go straight into the inlet manifold and would have disastrous results!
If you did want to blank at the top of the pipe, I would get some stainless steel disks, the same size and fit them instead.

Looks like mine have just packed up, lack of power low down and the amber light on the dash. Seeing as my D3 is a 2009 model I'm going to have to get them replaced. Anyone know what the going rate is per side?
Thanks in advance.
Regards, Jon.

I hopefully soon to have our latest secret project ready for the 2007> cars with EGR problems which will enable blanking with ease. If all the testing goes to plan we will have a very nice product that has an easy instal solution for it
I still have to get some procudtion hardware made but the prototypes are looking good so far.

Last year my 59 plate lost power and the engine light came on. Under warranty and called roadside assistance, his machine said egr valave so he blanked off both sides with 2p pieces (I think). He left the light on because he said it was the right thing to do.
Well we left everything as it was till the service which was due in January and we did about 6,000 miles in between. Told them when we booked it in and they replaced the right (offside) valve.
Now 10 months later the light has come on again, although there is no loss of power. Had a mechanic plug in a machine and it says EGR valve, does not say which one.
I was just going to buy a blanking kit but now notice it only works on engines below 2006 as the sensors will still think the egr valve is faulty, although notice hints of a way around this.
Because the valve were blanked off before and we did not have any trouble I am thinking of just blanking them off again, will these kits still fit?
I can get the engine light reset but I think it will come back on again, is this true.
This is one of the last Discovery 3 sold. I could not get a 4 as they had sold out and new orders were on a waiting time of six months. Now could not afford one!
Thanks for any help

I'm far from being a mechanic but this job is pretty straight forward, if I can do it anyone can.
I used Bellautos kit and it took me around 3 hours but I did take my time and read the instructions over & over just in case. Think there was a few cups of coffee in between too! 2016 RR Sport Autobiography
