Jip, I blanked it and also removed the butter fly valve. This is a huge improvement. I will never install all that pipes again!

Almost forget, I still need to order the unit to do the mapping on my Disco. You think it is the way to go?

My normally trusty D3 suddenly lost power on take off today like so many have posted on here. Now Ihve read your topic I am fairly confident that the issue has been slowly developing for a while....... I was just putting the initial sluggishness down to cold mornings etc, once she has warmed up its normally fine. Today though it has been a pig to drive and......welll exciting at major junctions........I never new I had so many friends
Its going into local garage for a looksie tomorrow, so hopefully they will confirm its the EGR's and nothing major , then my next call will be to Bells
I have already followed your link to their website and read the download...........being a marine engineer (jetskis) by trade I am hoping I cn do the job myself.

Same thought as I first had as it was December and really cold last year,
You being an engineer, it should be a breeze, it was the first technical thing I have ever done on a car, 3 hours, just took my time but Pete's instructions are just the job!

Hi StepenO. Made the blanking plates myself, or I took the pipes to a engineering shop to cut on lathe, I then drill holes and cut the sides with grinder. Could not wait a day longer to find out whats rong with my Disco. All spares fit perfect and we up and running again.
I want to order the remap unit next week, more to clear faults, dealers here not up to standerd, remaping a bonus. To ship spares from you to Namibia will take about 3-4 weeks, let you know if it work.
I am a electician, and take me also 2 hours to the job, thats strip and fit. Time well spend.

I bought the BAS kit and followed the PDF on their website to do the install myself late last year.
I found fitting quite easy and taking my time it took 2 hours. Fuel consumption was at 24.5 pre and is 22mpg post fitting but the power gain is great.

Hi we, I already have my Disco chiped, do you think I think I must remove chipp and go for the BAS unit. Mi disco is 2006 SE, 103000 km on clock. Power is mutch better from I removed some spares, egr and butter fly. Sommebody know of more spares that we can remove, I want to make this monster bush ready. Working to get a raised air intake, spare weel bracket and then last the front bull bar.
Already installed the lifting kit. Want to romove compressor and see i I can fit a better one in there, my Landy drop after 2-3 days.
Wait on anny sugestions.

Just came in from a test drive after blanking mine. Amazing to have the grunt back in the old blue!
Fitted the BAS kit. Money well spent! Club Traxide and dual Optima- red and yellow

Blanking kits will only work on pre 07MY cars as they were EU3 emmision engines. 07MY and onwards are EU4
emmision cars and any EGR faults keep engine lights on as the emmision laws are more strictor for EU4 and the EGR'S need to be working for the emmisons to be in this bracket
