It's like Clement Freund's wine list.
He made a bottle of plonk the most expensive, so if someone demanded "the most expensive wine on the list" - that was what they got! If someone wants to pay more 'cos it's got R A N G E instead of L A N D then why wouldn't Land Rover let them?
Top marketing, I think, selling existing stuff to a new market. Andrew

ISTR that when Ford owned LR the RRS was its most profitable current car (source: Autocar I think).
It's all about positioning and charging the price the market will bear - people expect to pay more for a RRS, therefore they do. Andy C

Quote:and i see A LOT of women drive the RRS it's bizarre i dont know and dont understand why that is.
I have actually taken a straw poll of a few women I know and almost all of them (including SWMBO) prefer the look of the Range Rovers (either FFRR or RRS) over the D3. I think it has something to do with curves versus lines. The Range Rovers are slightly curvier looking.
Or it could be some sort of evolutionary psychology thing: higher-priced vehicle = greater capacity to provide. 55-Reg Java Black SE, Unlocked SatNav (via Wiggs and Bodsy), Nudge Bar/Driving Lamps/RAI, Front & Rear Lamp Guards, RLD Sump Plate, RLD spare wheel protector

D3 = Practical, Rugged, Utilitarian
RRS = Flamboyant, Sporty, Aspirational
Not seeing why the ladies might prefer one over the other Nor why one commands a premium I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Nah - D3 has more seats so projects a persona of someone who is looking to raise a family, aludes to abundant fertility and thus allures to untapped levels of virility... The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

But then it could be that it implies that the owner is stolid and "dependable", and not the sort to take chances whilst out on the big hunt, thus bringing back less meat than the ones who push the boat and wear all the plumage.

Mine's usually full of straw, chicken pooh and the overwhelming odour of labrador. Mmmmm, bottle that and sell it as "mansex"
I could do a groupbuy on the FL2 forum? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
