If anyone needs the Webasto software, Pm me with your email and I'll send you version 2.13. That's the latest version I was able to get before they pass worded the software.

Whilst its warm and there's no need to have the FBH running I thought I'd delve into this thread and read about how to make the usb cable as I'm almost certain the FBH didnt fire up last winter.
I'm a bit confused as to what wires/plugs/heat shrink and usb connector I need to order.
Is there a definitive list anywhere that I can use to get all the bits from Maplins/fleabay?Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Santorini MY12

Well, gave up with the original unit and got a 2nd hand one (cheers Simon). Took 2 hours to swap out but that's mainly due to being unable to get the wheel arch liner out easily.
All connected up and fired first time with the Webasto diag software
All signals looking good, air fan, CO2, glow plug etc etc. Just in time for the cooler mornings

Excellent - take any pictures for those who will follow?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
If there was nothing wrong with the exhaust it is easier just to loosen the exhaust and disconnect from the webasto. Put new unit in and then reconnect exhaust. Saves the hassle of messing with the wheel arch liner.....

Fuel burning heater is locked out, pulling fuse does nothing.
Missus has runs the car on empty all the time..
I have downloaded SW and made the simple loom and connected the diesel fuel pump through.
I cant get the sw to connect to the fbh. Im going from usb but the sw only says that com8 is the only port available i have no other choice available. Connecting to the only usb port still says com 8 in the webasco drop down menu.
The program tries to connect but the progress bar remains greyed out without progress.
Can anyone tell me (step by step) of how to change the com port on the webasco program.

there was a little label with a download address stapled to the top of the bag with mine
It's a pretty generic USB to serial driver which can be found by searching for 'USB + 409 VAG' driver but if you cannot find it send me a pm with your email address and I will send you the drivers I have if you want ?

blue meanie, Managed to find and download the drivers earlier, thanks
I installed them and connected up my OB2 and VAG 2x2 adaptor using crocodile clip test leads bought of the bay and the fbh wire bought from the D3 shop.
I had a little trouble getting the software working. I noticed that the list of com ports available in the webasto software only listed COM9 and COM3 yet when checking in Device Manager under windows my OB2 usb cable had been assigned to COM25. I changed this to COM2 and reloaded the Webasto software and now this was available under the COM ports and it connected successfully.
I cleared the faults initially without looking what they were!. I then ran the Parking control once and the FBH ran for 40-50secs and shutdown with an STFL fault. I managed to clear this fault and ran the sequence once again. This time it continued, filled the drive with white smoke and basically followed IanNP screenshot of events on page 8 of this thread. Then I stopped the process and the FBH cooled and shutdown.
So now, hopefully, I've got a fully working FBH again. Top marks must go to IanNP, Martin for the cable and everyone else thats contributed to this thread. It reads quite a daunting task at first but if I car numpty like myself can do it then anyone can.
Just need the temps to drop now (currently 16c out there!!!)
