If your car has this problem, it is a straightforward fix.

Well, not really, not least as you haven't explained what problem you have. The referenced TSB has very specific fault codes; if you car doesn't display those, then that TSB is not relevant. Perhaps you could describe the problem you have?

Sorry to hear of your woes guys, especially after all that money that's been splashed about !
And here's me now thinking that I'm just too happy sticking with my old tried and trusted 135k D3 Thumbs Up
Really hope you get a fix soon.

Good luck all

Sudden loss of power and error message "restricted performance" with red triangle.

Has happened once at motorway speed after about two miles from start and twice a low speed just a few hundred yards from start. Only common denominator has been relatively cold engine as failure occured on first use of car in day on each occasion

Last fix (so I'm told as I know nothing of these matters) was dismantling of turbo and cleaning and resetting of turbine blades as instructed and apparently supervised by Land Rover Technical. Was also told that they (blades) were fine and it may just be a software problem. I dont have the codes but will get them tomorrow and post them.

Exbanker - perhaps a new thread with a simple description of the issues you have in the heading, then a detailed break down of the history, will help as your posting may be lost within this thread.

You will find that there is an amazing combined level of expertise on the forum especially from the moderators Bow down , (cherish & benefit from the help you can get Idea ) and many of us have gone through troubled times with LR's in the past Shocked , but often you will be able to lead your dealer's technicians by the hand (or other appropriate parts of the anatomy Shocked ) with the information you gain here.

Patience generally works but at the same time put down clear markers with the dealer & LR CS as to the consequences of them not dealing properly with the issue Twisted Evil and if they are genuinely in the wrong don't be fobbed off, just be fair but determined.

If the mentioned TSB (and there aren't too many for the D4) were to be helpful, the action the dealer would take would be to use a fixed vane turbocharger actuator service kit.

If your dealer is not aware of this, point them towards LTB00249, published on 3rd December.

Dealer confirmed the issue with ours was as per the referenced TSB and that the issues lies with the turbocharger vane.

Had the same problem with our D4 XS (2 weeks old and 650miles); overtaking with 3/4 full tank car went into Restricted performance with Red Warning light. Car was warm at the time and had been driven for 60miles. Called LRA who pulled out P0406-77, P22D2-77 and P22CF-71 reset the system and the car functioned normally. Yesterday, drove 1/4 mile (again full tank) and restricted Performance with red Triangle came back...... Think it's time for LRA again.......

More likely, time for the dealer. Mention the TSB number if they look at you blankly.

BATS, there is a new TSB out that specifically mentions the second fault code you mentioned. This is not the same issue as covered in the rest of this thread.

Steer your dealer, if they don't do it themselves, to SSM43080. This covers failure of the secondary turbocharger turbine shut off solenoid valve.
