Quest Roof Rack Group Buy
Hello all,
I'm Ben, a recent addition to the ProSpeed team. Firstly I must apologise for our lack presence over the last few months, we are now back and have our rack in full production. I'm just giving you an update on the Quest Roof Rack group buy situation.
I have set it up so there are two group buys both of which need five users to sign up so you are able to enjoy the 10% forum discount. Both are for our Quest Expedition Roof Rack, any version particulars i.e. sunroof/non-sunroof, glass roof or aerial can be requested once signed up. Also if you require any rack accessories (floors, cross bars etc), they will also be included in the group buy discount. The separate group buy for our floors will be removed.
If you have any questions please contact us, either via the forum, email, or on 01904 728112.
Thank you all for your patience.
Ben

Prices
As requested by Phil the racks that are we offer are listed below. All of the prices include the 10% group buy discount and VAT. Delivery is £65 to most regions of the UK.
Can you clarify what the "non-sunroof + glass roof + aerial" bit means and why it increases the price nearly 200 GBP?
If it is a no-sunroof D3, what does the extra cost for the glass roof mean?
And by antenna do you mean the sharks fin on the rear of some D3s? I thought that the only change for this was to remove a marked section of the rear compostite floor....
Also, what would be the shipping cost to Spain (assuming an order of rack+floors+cross bars)?
Cheers,

Sorry Paul I should have explained. The Quest rack to fit a Discovery with a glass roof and fin is more expensive. This is because if you spec the glass roof LR move the sharks fin 3 inches backwards. This puts it in the middle of the rear lateral rail. The up side is, you do not have to buy any floors as it comes with a permanent metal mesh floor, thus allowing light to shine through. The cost of the mesh itself, the more labour intensive process, and the higher powder coating cost make this product more expensive.
I should just say the racks for glass roofs are a built-to-order product so we do not hold them in stock.
Here is a photo (pre-powder coat) showing the clearance for the sharks fin. Email/PM me your address and I will get back to you with a shipping price.

Hi guys,
Olly here. Sorry I haven't been active in these parts for a while. Just to answer r1gixer1's question about a Foxwing. We will be offering a number of brackets to fit awnings soon. The Foxwing and Hannibal awnings are on that list.

Thanks Ben....that now makes sense
Although the four separate descriptions still don't
In the D3/D4, the sunroof and 2nd/3rd row glass roofs are the same thing - you either have them all, or nothing at all (steel roof)
Or am I missing something?

Hi Paul,
Apologies it seems so complicated but they are all genuine options. The reason for the 2nd description is because in the past we have had customers request a non-sunroof version of the rack to capitalise on the more easily usable space. Likewise if you don't have a fin, but do have a glass roof, you can save money and purchase the standard rack with sunroof front (3rd description). However when you add the floor you prevent light coming through the roof, this isn't a major problem though because the floor is easily removable when the rack is not laden.
At the sacrifice of making things a little complicated we want to be able to offer our customers the choices to customise the rack to their exact requirements. Everything we build is done in house, and hand built so we have the opportunity to offer the choice which others can't.
Most of all though, if you are interested in the rack, please don't hesitate to call us to go through the options, and we can all get confused together!

When buying a roof rack and signing up to the group buy, any rack accessories you also wish to purchase will also be offered at a discount.

1. Is the load capacitiy equal for the rack with mesh and the rack with solid floor? 200kg right?
2. I have sunroof/glass roof but no shark fin, hence I've got two options:
a) standard rack(sunroof version) + solid floor, and
b) rack with mesh without the opening for the fin(cheaper due to less labour?)
Which alternative will you recommand?Land Rover - It Hurts So Good

Hi Steff1,
Yes, the load capacity is equal for both racks - 200kg. In your case, sunroof/glass roof and no shark fin, we would supply you with the standard rack (sunroof version) and composite floor. The mesh floor is only an option when you have the shark fin. When the rack is unloaded the floor is easily removable allowing even more light through the roof.
