It's been discussed quite a bit in the past about how the auto gearbox gets a bit "sluggish" after a while. It's not a big issue, but after driving it for a while you get the impression
A usual way to "wake it up" a bit is to give the D3 a damn good thrashing so that it learns to be a little more aggresive in the gear changes.
Another option is to reset the adaptive data so that it starts from scratch.... 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

I'll set up a video camera when I try it again to see if what happened replicates Mine is only a 2004 so don't know if that makes any difference

Whats the process to do that as SWMBO has been driving it mostly and it is slow to change now due to her "relaxed" driving style.

TBH I can't remember exactly where that came from, more than likely it's been discussed on here in the past though so get searching The End

Or could it be another service reminder reset on pre MY08 using dash buttons which has been done on many D3's but no one here can manage other than the poster

why the adaptive gearbox if it makes driving sluggish and is detrimental to fuel economy ? There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

I am almost convinced in ordering the MSV-2. Does it have any solution for the park heater (FBH) to work without making fault codes or even without purchasing and installing the additional call-start kit from Webasto?
I feel bad every time I have to start it in 10-15 degrees below zero and would also be nice to get to a warm and nice car these cold days...

Hiya Nic
Welcome to the board
I believe we have just added a run FBH button to the MSV-2 system which will cause the FBH to fire up regardless of any other aspect.

I can confirm i have a fuel burning heater prime function ( look here and see what that does http://www.youtube.com/user/wiggsdisco#p/a/u/1/txo_bvRd6rM )
And there is now a fire FBH button which starts the FBH for a couple of minutes G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

But only with the engine running...although it does work a treat and nearly caused a fire alert in my company car park last week....they didn't fall for it twice though and I got told to stop f'ing around
Nic - if you want to fire up the FBH before starting the engine, then a webasto timer is really the best option 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue
