Ill donate my time to a project like that
Me too
I can deffo take care of all the programming aspects.
But then thay are fitting the V8 5.0 naturally aspirated to D4's, so logically a supercharged would fit as it mainly at the upper intake end it varies.
BTW, really nice to see you back chap

Cheeky Git, aint he.
As it happens Matt, you would be well covered diagnostically wise with a VAG as unlike Land Rover, who made it all top secret in house stuff that someone like me has to work real hard to sort out and is therefore expensive to do, the VAG stuff is all as per industry standards and there is therefore quite cheap equipment readily availiable like the VAG COM to decently cover it.

Project idea
Merge a RRS TDV8 witha D3, to get a D3 TDV8 8)
Come on, 'someone' has to be first, it would be a fantastic project, and I'm sure it would be 'possible'
Would love to - the only thing stopping me from seriously looking at it is the cost - even a 'scrap' TdV8 RRS is beyond my means ...Regards,

Matt,
The VAG-COM stuff is what you need, but I would suggest you buy legit, direct from Ross-tech.com , or from the UK from ilexa.co.uk as when you need to program & need a list of long codings a guy named sebastian stange is a mine of information, especially what you can & can't do.
Regards
Steve

Although they have not had to do any hard development work to create their program and equipment which reflects in its price, Ross tech do provide first hand support and its worth a bit extra to go to them as they were the origional source and are likely to be the most up to date.
I really cannot tell you what the current score is Re CAN bus stuff and must assume later VAGS have moved to it, and you would want the latest CAN compatible hardware, so worth looking them out to get up to speed.

Dear Matt,
What a fantastic project you went through with your Discovery 3! I did read al your postings carefully. Good job!
I'm from Amstedam (Holland) and last week I bought a Discovery 3 TDV6 with a broken engine. So now I need to replace the engine by using(I think?) the 'body-off' method!
If you are willing to help me on my way doing that I really appreciate that!
A couple of questions:
1) did you use a book or repair manual or did you use common-sense?
2) my project is only about the engine; do I have to separate the body/chassis or is it better to get the engine out from the frontside?
Anyway, it is the first time for me working on a Discovery 3 so any tip and/or trics are more than welcome!!
I hope you understand my English and you are willing to help me getting me on my way!
