Played with my lights today...
Always liked the look of cars that have had a de-tango so today was the day to do mine. While I was in the mood I also had a go at playing with the rear lights.
Well here are the before and after photos. Fitted new LED side lights while I was at it. More on that later.

That done it was time to play with the back lights.
The lights on the earlier D3 are very big and very red so I thought I would try and change that without spending a fortune on D4 items. I managed to get a cheap pair of rear lights, in case I mucked the whole thing up, and a can of tint from Halfords.
I masked of the reversing lights as I did not want to darken them. Thought this would better match the de-tango at the front. I was also fitting high power LED's. Not much point in doing that if i'm going to darken the lens was also my thinking. Light guards were also fitted to match the front.

The difference the spray tint made to the lens. Not a bad job even if I do say so myself...

The finished job with lights off and then on.

With that done it was time to wait for dark to see how my new Led lights worked.
Have to say they are great. Very pleased. Those reversing light are brilliant.
Front side lights first. Boy are they bright looking even in daylight.
Standard sidelights against my gates from about 10 foot away.

Hell of a big difference.
Now the reversing lights.
First off is the view down my drive with no lights on at all. Really it's not just a black box. Look closely.

Must say I'm very happy with these. Must look into putting LED's into the rest of the rear lights now.
All bulbs were from Advanced Factors. Very quick service. Many thanks to them...
