matt_tdv6 wrote:Anyone interested in buying my D3?
I will consider stripping it if there is enough interest in all the parts
Its time to move onto the next rebuild project...Staying with the brand but not a D3
Matt, I could be very interested, just sold my X5 (bad mistake) so have some cash if the price is right.

Martin I thought it was milesg or milesg_01 but tried all of those and nothing
glad to be part of the community and lets face it, if I hadn't looked on here I would not have my gleaming black beauty.
It is now fitted with RRS TDV8 20" Stormers wrapped in Hankook RH06's, has mudflaps to protect the paint from stones etc and about to remove the side bars, strip, prime and get powdercoated for a stronger finish.
Matt is a legend, he has been very helpful and answered all my million of Q's - he was certainly sad to see it go!
(Matt - still can't believe where that locking wheel nut was!!!)
Glad to be part of the community

The side bars are powder coated matt white underneath and then painted silver and laquered..I painted them the same silver as the grill bar and bumper
The stones and road salt didnt do them much good to be honest
Miles,Im not sure you can actually powder coat silver??? I may be wrong but i was told its powder coated then a wet coat and laquer is applied to achieve silver as powder coat was only solid colours
I might be wrong though...Im sure somebody on here will know
Im sad somebody has taken my HSE/T away from me
Having to run a remapped Golf GT TDi for now till i find another project

Ken's the man for powder coating
I needed to match the bumper/grill colour when i did the side tubes and painting them was the best match

Miles, The Hankook tyres are only load rated at 106, which is OK fro the lighter RRS, but not for the D3. Might have an insurance problem if any bump etc. Should be 109 or higher. ISTR that the Cooper Zeon 20" tyres are 112 load rating Bodsys Brake Bible
