Hi Chris. I asked this earlier (since you seem very good at answering Turbochip questions in posts), but I haven't seen any answer. Can you oblige please:

The only question I have left is what happens if LR decide to overwrite my TC mod. It was done at the dealers in the Lakes but I'm near Aberdeen. Will TC in Carlisle pass my 'map' to their chap in Aberdeen for a free restore of the mapping? Also, if there are any improvements made to the TDV6 mapping in future, will I be entitled to an upgrade or am I stuck with what I have - even if it is found to perhaps have a problem later?

If your car is returned to standard by the LR dealer then we will happily re-upgrade the car. You'll have to speak to the Carlisle dealer first to arrange it.
As for future upgrades...we'll simply keep up to date with LR software and have no plans to install further updates in customers cars etc Money talks.Sex sells.Mud sticks.Time flys.  happens.People talk.Impressions last!

Will be turbochippin' too as soon as D3 arrives....
Only fear is that, if the guys at LR ever need to take it for a spin to make sure it runs OK after any sort of service done to it, they will definitely suspect mine's on drugs.... Will tell them its garaged next to a RRS--bad influence.... 8) JL Martin

Our method of 'updating and tuning' reduces the need or likelihood of a LR dealer updating the car.
For members info the last 5 RRS TDV6's I have seen have all had 'old' software in them and I updated them with the lastest WDS disc 13 'patches' before installing the TC modification

Does the 'WDS 13 patch' update the phone software, or is the phone software a totally different issue?

My understanding is that the phone software is contained within the BCU (body control unit ) computer and not in the engine ECU.
However, I am led to believe that many LR technicians (monkeys) are too lazy to identify the correct computer to upgrade when installing a BCU update and simply reconfigure the whole car rather just the relevant computer on the car.
