Piero, I have exactly the same problems with my TDV6. Bought it before Christmas, went to Austria and was let down by the car. Lost power so many times, sometimes on the fast lane, and it was terifing when a 40 tonnes truck has to stop just behind you!!! Also, I averaged 19-20mpg in 2000 miles (motorway!), so the car is going back to the same dealership (Thames Ditton) on 23rd. Could you please let me know how it goes with yours? Thanks

I live in Kingston too mate, might see you around...what colour/spec is your car? My car is booked into Guy Salmon Thames Ditton tomorrow so I'll let you know the conclusion, its a very frustrating fault as it's intermittent. I work in sales for Land Rover and I know that many people have had new turbos on D3's, I wish my car was a demo....I wouldn't be so worried then! 2006 TDV6 SE

Good luck Piero! My one is a 2006, Bonnati Grey, HSE, DVD, etc. Live in Kingston but mainly drive a Ford transit van, my missus broken her leg in Austria, so the Disco is not much used.....Please let me know how it goes with the new turbo. Also, what about your mpg? How much do you normally get ?

Got a call from the stealer today, looks like my car needs a new Turbo! They said they had replaced a few on the Disco3 and even their demo's Turbo went with just 10 miles on the clock....mine went with just 15!!
Only problem is that they are on backorder so not sure how long it will be until I have a new one...will find out tomorrow though, I'll keep you all posted!!
Cheers
Minica - I have only done 200 miles in the car and so far have averaged 26mpg or so the computer says! 2006 TDV6 SE

I've booked mine 2 weeks ago and the dealer put on order a new turbo. So by 23rd I should have mine replaced. Very impressed with your mpg!!! Mine is only 20. Will keep you informed how it goes.

Well turns out my car needed a new turbo (not bad for 4 days old!), it's the electronic variable vane actuator that fails I've been told. It took a while to get the parts but after two weeks in the Stealers I finally got my car back Friday and so far so good, she is running sweet!!! 2006 TDV6 SE

No problem Martin, I was so gutted when the fault light flashed up with only 19 miles on the clock! Guy Salmon were very helpful and apologetic about the delay in receiving the parts. Although the book time is 5 hours the job takes 14-16 hours, the fault is fairly common and mine was the fifth one they had done...their own demo failed with ten miles on the clock! Done 250 miles this weekend and loving every bit...also averaged 27mpg!! 2006 TDV6 SE

Piero, you are a lucky guy! I have my car booked 4 weeks ago to have the turbo changed and LR called me last week to tell me that they did not received the parts! It is obvious that you put a bit of pressure on them to have it done quickly! I will call them now to have their comments. I am so glad that your car works so much better now. Hope the same with mine. Especially the mpg .... I can't believe is stil doing 18mpg? Cheers

minicabelemet I had the same problem last april when i was told it would take 10 days to get a new ECU as I had no suspension or TC. I rang LR Customer services and suggested in a rather direct fashion somebody walked down to the production line and !**!!** well picked one up and courier it to my dealer, which to my they did overnight Alive and kicking..who's round is it anyway ??

Malcolm, I just had a word with the dealer and the turbo will be ready this week. Thanks for advise. Minica
Piero, what was your mpg before installing the new turbo?

My mpg before Turbo change was the same, mine is a manual and I am running her in gently so don't go over 80mph on the A3. The turbo took 3 days to arrive and the studs took a further 7 days, I didn't put much pressure on them but I left the car there so they probably wanted it out ASAP as parking is very tight at Guy Salmon!! Good luck with yours mate... 2006 TDV6 SE

Happened again last night, lost power just as I was trying to make a quick getaway from the Dartford Toll. Limped to the A2 and pulled onto the hard shoulder to reboot the motor. All fine again now !
When she goes in on Wednesday for a new headlight switch and coolant sensor they're going to check this and the handrake failure warnings too!
