yep, same applies. Just go a tad careful rather than pull like . The reason for this is you need to remove the inner vent from both, cup holder and light switch to swap onto new trims. If you pull like you might damage those bits.
Just apply pressure upwards from bottom and they will come off.

Hi Guys
I am new to your Forum but I have been reading and enjoying your posts for over a year now in Sunny South Florida, I would like to know why don’t you cut the clip off the H center trim piece instead of cutting a hole in the car ????
Thanks

Ok, I hope I can help. On the old trim there are I think 4-6 metal clips. The lower two are roughly in line with the heater controls. What I did was grip the H trim where the ash tray is, thumbs on the inside, fingers around the edge and slowly with even pressure pull towards you.
It can only be done this way because the vent part of the trim hooks under the dash and needs to be levered out from bottom. Dont wrry if clips break, new trim has them fitted, but I dont think they will break.
HOPE IT HELPS

Well you can use a dremmel tool, that little handy craftman tool with loads of attachments, but I suspect you have'nt one. Once you cut it though you have to glue the wood back to the H trim you are fitting.
Personally I didnt cut the tab off as its a locking tab holding on the wood, I just offered it up to the dash with pressure so the tabs scratched the inner dash (you will not see the marks when done), removed the new trim and then got the largest drill bit and drilled one hole either side in the marked area, job done

After ordering my wood trim kit while away on holiday it arrived perfectly, the day after I got back as arranged with Nick (TLO). What fantastic service - thanks for all you do on here Nick
Fitted today, what a doddle, bit of a tug and a few torx screws and all was done. The center H piece does have the extra clips that stand proud stopping the whole thing fit snug, but I followed Macleod's advice and drilled two holes each side for a perfect fit.

All in all, took me about an hour, and I'm loving the fresh new look.

Looks great with the beige leather. Glad to have helped. To be honest it was Bornidle that highlighted the holes needing to be drilled, but still glad to of passed on his advice too

Just installed the Piano Black trim in my D3, took me all of about 30 minutes, had to make room for the clips and all is well. Definitely adds some life to the interior. Can't thank Nick enough for the awesome deals, and the amazingly fast shipping!! I'll post pictures here shortly..
Looking forward to eeing the picsTLO has left the building.......

You might not have much luck with that. I think there are only 3 members with that colour interior. Take a look in my gallery though if you want to see Tundra with Piano black wood.Global Warming.... I'm luvvin it

I put the brushed alloy transmission trim with the Piano Black trim. I agree with Shinky, most interior upgrades are with the Black leather and plastic trim. The older HSE are drab n boring and needs life breathing into them, hence why all are going the way I did, and its such a top easy modification.
