Whats your fuel consumption? |
|
Having now done 1000 miles since 29th November, my car (TDV6) is reporting 23.9 mpg on its trip computer.
My first full fill-up did 430 miles, and I was surprised how quickly the Range figure went down from 130 miles to 10 miles left within the space of 25 miles!
The second tank lasted 380 miles, but I filled with an indicated 100 miles left, but the guage was well below 1/4 tank and I had a long journey to do.
I expect it will get better as it loosens up, but I have to admit to being a little disapointed. I was led to believe that 28mpg was very achievable, but I can't see this being the case.
Whats your consumption like?

Hi,
I now have my new discovery for one week and average consumtion is about 15 liters on 100 km (total 400 kilometers)
Could anyone tel me if the 4x4 info centre on the central screen is an optional part of the Extra off road gps pakage or is it also available on the standard GPS pack.
I have a standard gps option on my car but I can't find the 4x4 info centre on my car. ?
Thanks,
Bernard

After 3,000 miles in my TDV6 auto my trip computer says I am only getting 22.4mpg. The number of times I have to stop to put another £60 of diesel in is consistent with this very disappointing statistic. LR adverts give a combined figure well ahead of my experience. I mentioned this to the dealer who supplied the vehicle and he said others had expressed the same thing. Can we claim that we were mis-sold ? Disco 4 TDV6HSE

On my 5000 km trip got 12.5l/100km. That is cruising at 70 mph across the USA.
(I avoid MPG because the US uses different gallons and it gets very confusing. If you want this in US MPG, it is 18.8. Whatever that is in UK MPG)

19.6mpg - but that is short commute on country back roads (6/7 miles) - dealer spoke to LR & they said I was doing well at that!!!! Engine heater is probably part culprit I reckon as it is on for 1/2 the trip.

You get 17 UK MPG on country roads when I get 18 US MPG on highways? 17 UK MPG is , what, about 10 US MPG??

As you will see my post indicated 19.6mpg not 17. To convert to USA mpg's try x 83.3%, which gives 16.32 USmpg. Remember this is the TDV6 whereas in the USA you will have a petrol V8, so in otherwords on a cold engine driving winding back roads the TDV6 is getting almost as good consumption as you are getting cruising on a speed restricted highway (when youwill be getting your best possible consumption). High time they started importing the TDV6 to the USA!!

Oops, I read that as 16.9...!
High time I started reading properly - and high time we all went to one unit (preferably an SI unit).

Ha ha! Don't tell any other Canadians that their country is the USA... like saying "you live in Glasgow, which we all know is in England", but even worse. Maybe a better comparison is "The UK, which is in Germany"...
The reason I mentioned the USA is that I drove south across the USA ... from Canada (and back safely to Canada a week later I am happy to say)

Sorry - entirely my fault, I'd read the text of posting but had not looked at the posting members details in the left column!! Must say I agree that it s time there was a standardised unit (as long as it is not the US one!!!!!) but part of the problem for us here in the UK (yes Scotland is still part of the UK!!) is that we still use miles as the standard measurement for road distances, although petrol is now sold in litres!
Good luck.

Driving sanely - which is hard to do as this car really handles well and tempts you to fling it around- I am averaging between 27 and 30 UK MPG. Range on a tank is around 520 miles.
I usually have the aircon on ECON mode unless its wet and starts to mist up.
TDV6 6 S - 1100 miles so far.

Hi Simon - can you clarify is your TDV6 a manual or auto? And what sort of driving are you doing - I'm running short say 6 mile trips from cold most of the time along winding country road and currently down to 19.5mpg!!

TDV6 is a manual. Done trips from Ludlow into Wales and back so twisty and hilly up and downy roads. Trips down to Bristol on M5 and then back on A roads to 'have a play.
Worst MPG seen is 26 and best is 34
Engine is a dream as long as you're in the right gear. Seems that if your on A and B roads its best to stay in 4th. Upping to 5th seem to labour the engine and of course use more fuel. 5th of course if your cruising along straights.

Will try a slightly longer trip as I suspect that my short trips with the fuel burning heater (probably) running may be part of the problem & that your trips while on similar country roads are probably longer & therefore with a warm engine. Certainly I am down on the 24/25mpg I was getting from a TD5 manual.
