All sorted now the new valve has been fitted, back to opening the door in the freezing cold mornings and being hit by a blast of warm air coming from the heater.

This is the little Censored that caused the problem.

 It can when others can't,

It goes where others don't.

Nice one, you can leave your driving gloves (and scarf) off now! I have no idea how the valve came to be jammed solid, but jammed solid it was.
