1.I sincerely hope so, getting ear ache from SWMBO now.
2.By front do you mean top of rad? All Matrix pipes have theoretically been bled, original EGR bleed screw is in the ableism’s, I dropped it and had to manufacture another
3.No pipes have been touched apart from draining the system. EGR pipes have not been touched although I did clamp the hose for as short period to try and force the water through the matrix, it didn’t work.
Thanks for your input. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Sorry I can't remember if in your previous posts if you have tried placing the hosepipe from your tap into both of the rubber heater hoses rather than the matrix.
If one of those are blocked you should easily find out.
Also remember that a D3 eu4 has 3 thermostats.
Do you know where these thermostats are located? It can when others can't,

The air bleed points (automatic bleed or manual bleed) are :
Small top rad pipe
Small pipe in V of engine
EGR bleed
Wirhout these being bleed it’s common for the heater not to work

The three thermostats:
One in LH EGR cooler
One in RH EGR cooler
The big octopus one at the bottom by the rad.
The egr ones are inserted into one of the egr inlet/outlet pipes, clearly visible when the rubber hose is removed.
They were not inserted in early D3 but only on EU4 versions. Not sure if it carried on to D4

This valve at the battery side of the FBH stuck closed, not an airlock

No one more relieved than me, you just cannot believe how cold a car is without heating this time of year, although the repair is temporary until a new valve comes. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Good you found out what's wrong. I deffo can imagine how cold it is, I've driven a diesel Touran for 12 years. Good for the MPG, but it never got warm for the life of it. Not good in -20°C

I wonder what’s caused it to suddenly stick. I would have to strip the valve down for a look just to at the very least satisfy my curiosity.

I don't think it suddenly stuck, the piston was jammed hard in the rubber seat in the centre, probably a combination of age, lack of use since last winter and a fair bit of muck binding it in place. Removing the rubber seat gave an imperfect flow, but a flow non the less.
