Also went with Hastings and funny enough found it cheaper and on confused than supermarket compare
Came out around £500 with full home recovery , key cover , protected NCB
Knew it wasn’t the fault of A plan as they said so many of there brokers dropped out from insuring land rovers as there quote came in at just over £1200
Also had a lot of the things in ur pic
Ref renewals I always cancelled them via my bank app to prevent any auto renewals coming out by mistake
Good to see u got a good quote , wonder what next year will bring , hopefully a lot better with JLR updating all landies back to 2016 and not taring all of them with the same brush so to speak
Have i missed something here Gary? JLR updating Landies from 2016 on. What's the craic? Mines in for a service in a month or two, should i be pushing for an update of some description?

Best thing to do is check Topix for your vin number, if it lists a 'campaign' then your dealer will do it, if nothing listed then they wont update anything. Mine (23MY Evoque).
Topix listed a security campaign for mine (N863 BCM Security Enhancement) which the dealers did last Monday (as it was booked in anyway), they just rang me the Saturday before and advised me to bring both keys.1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

Tempted by a new Defender and thought I would check out insurance costs as I expected that would be a deal killer. Pleasantly surprised considering all the horror stories. Admiral appear to be the main insurer as four out of seven below £610 were from them.

Still not sure the cost of changing vehicle is worth it though...

The depreciation on your new Defender will dwarf any insurance costs.Gary

This is classic.
I have motorcycle insurance with One Call, defacto 5* rated.
Anyway, I am getting my new motorcycle on Tuesday, so was wanting to change the insurance from one bike to the new one.
I’d renewed the policy in January this year and paid the full amount. It appears the old insurance won’t insure the new one. No great problem there, there’s plenty about that will.
However, I seems I won’t get anything back on the policy, in fact they want to charge me £20 odd on top for cancelling it.
That’s a new one on me tbh.

If an insurer won't provide cover for a new vehicle it is usual (providing there have been no claims on the policy) for the insurer to provide a pro-rata refund (less any admin fee the insurer may impose but that would be shown in the policy)
If you have had the policy say 2 months then there should be 10/12ths of the premium refunded. The broker can still take their £21.45 from it, albeit a little unfair if they are providing a new insurance for you.
Check the actual policy wording where it will show what happens if "you" cancel or if "we" cancel (being the insurer). It should also show any fee they retain, in the same section.

I think that's just poorly worded. It doesn't say you won't get a refund, just that a new quote won't allow for it. Basically, the new quote and refund on your existing policy are two separate transactions.Darren

I got this yesterday. It explains their charges. I still think it’s ridiculous for two months worth of insurance and someone taking all of one second to cancel it.
I also think it’s strange how the insurance company won’t cover me for the new motorcycle, but One Call found a new company that will at a cost of £300 basically.
I’ve now gone with BikeSure, part of the Adrian Flux group for half the price for identical coverage.
I’ve had the new bike a week now and covered 250 miles at a running limit of 4k revs, God it was a PITA. The next 150 miles are at 6k and then another 200 miles are “moderately”, it red lines at 10k, truth be told I’ll have to watch it, a flick of the wrist and the traction control kicks in when the front wheel wants to come off the ground.

They've just made up the "cost of days covered" figure to ensure they don't pay anything back. How the first three months of the year account for 2/3rds of the year's insurance cost is remarkable and such a coincidence!Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

New tyres can be a pain on a motorbike, but so variable.
Spent a 2-3weeks on my GSA commuting 3miles each way 4x a day, trying to put a heat cycle into the tyres and had more slides then I would want to remember. So slippery and lethal in the wet.
Put on a set of Trailmax Raids on the AT recently and by the third corner had enough confidence to just not worry about the fresh rubber.

Know what you mean. The bike came with Dunlop Roadsport 2 tyres. They seem reasonably capable tbh.

Bit of good news and not that good but not that bad news. Our Skoda has only gone up 2.6% to £267. The Jazz has gone up 27% to £203. Deffo no problem with the former, might see what I can do for the latter as it’s gone up from £120(ish) to £203 in a couple of years. It’s not one of the type that LV has blacklisted, renewal is with LV, but maybe they feel the need to fleece other jazz users.
Will see what a bit of Meerkat comparison can do.
PS There was an email a few hours before the price coming in hinting that you needed to sit down for the renewal, maybe that worked as we were braced for an impact that didn’t arrive.
PPS Leaving as is as once i excused the mega cheapies, that weren’t mega cheap, the Jazz price wasn’t that bad. Obviously Jazz drivers are reverting to their natural habit of hooning.
