which by % of cars sold that puts LR way out in front really, there's a few more Fords than LR/RR out there with some quite expensive ones.

Im pretty sure that if you looked at the % of black/grey/white cars sold across all manufacturers, they will have been sold in much higher numbers than the rest of the colour spectrum available. So gauging a portion of the Tesco results against the most popular colours is a bit skewed.
Also just gauging it against the model of car rather than saying Ford or Land Rover etc would make a huge difference to the stats. How many Ford Kuga are stolen, or Puma for example... Im pretty sure Fiestas are the most popular Ford recorded against insurance claims but then they sold in the 100,000's so again a skewed result as the higher the numbers sold then the higher the potential claims.
How many Freelanders were stolen, Evoques or Disco Sport ? ...or are the results really just based on the RRS, followed by the D4/D3. Again the published stats seem a little skewed.
All this just my humble opinion of course, happy to be corrected by more accurately defined stats rather then generic manufacturer.
and the insurance companies dont even care about accurate stats, if they can find an angle to screw us over then they will.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

5 year repair guarantee
Windscreen cover

They included a short explanation of why it’s gone up
Why your price has gone up
Even if none of your circumstances have changed and you haven't
made a claim against your policy, your insurance price can still
change. There are lots of reasons why your price might have gone
up, but it's mainly because of the rising cost of claims the insurance
industry now faces.

On average, prices across the market are rising by approximately 40%* because of the costs we’ve outlined.
However, this is just an average. Some areas and types of vehicles are experiencing lower increases, and others are experiencing much more significant ones.

Just had renewal through, £4 cheaper than last year at £204.
Limited milage and lowered value but as it's only used for trips to the van in Devon and taking the dog out I can live with that.
In for MOT at the moment so may be meaningless depending on the outcome

Had a nice surprise from Priviledge.
Had a notification yesterday to say they had deposited £192 into my account.
Then had an email today to say they had made a mistake at my renewal back in Feb and will be refunding the amount I had overpaid. Obviously their payment team work quicker than the Customer service team.
No prompting from me at all, and at renewal my policy had only increased by @£100.Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.
