Best service I’ve received from main dealers is Mitsubishi, when I had a shotgun some years ago and Skoda. I’m sure it’s because they sell lower volume, although Skoda are now more popular than when I owned my Fabia VRS.
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head saying that the service doesn’t match the price paid for the vehicle. I’m sure it’s because the majority of sales are corporate, probably on lease or pcp. I’ve been in a dealership several times and been ignored by sales reps. The service team also quote ridiculous figures sometimes without batting an eyelid, I think they become immune to it. I detest all this smoke and mirrors stuff, like being greeted by a service rep and videoing the car and then a health check sent over by text or email. I wish they would just concentrate on fixing what they are supposed to.
I’ve found a good independent to be invaluable, they are more knowledgeable and caring.

Must admit I can’t fault my dealer, over a decade of good service. It’s only now that I’ve moved to a new dealer because the staff I’ve dealt with have moved, it’s now an hours drive rather than 25mins but I know I’ll be looked after.

The difference is that a D5 is no longer the D3/D4/Defender Tonka Toy that appealed to the child that's still in us and always will be....

Absolutely. A good dealer is worth the effort to travel to. Mine is around 60 miles of mostly country lanes & B roads Shocked

Mines now in Dundee, I’ll find out if they are still as good on Tuesday as the Velar is for its first service.

The dealer that Red Merle uses is County Barnstaple. He gets looked after there.

I cannot say the same with there parts department. Four or five years ago I needed help with a filter housing which had sprung a leak, whilst on holiday in the area. They could not really give a hoot if they helped me or not. So as I am not local I will give them the benefit of it being an isolated incident!

That’s the one. Sorry to hear of the problems that you had, although I’ve only been going there for 3 and-a-bit years; maybe there’s been a change of staff?

Ive used Taunton Landrover for the last 10 years and always had good service until this week.

There sales guy Martin is awesome but it seems there service side has turned for the worse,

Trying to book a service and nothing for a month, and not reallly interested, can never get through to them and the receptionist advices a call back has been booked but it never seems to happen.

A call to Matford Exeter and lovely lady booked me straight in with courtesy car so will look at ordering new one from them this time.
