Glad to see the new D5 hybrid isn’t loosing the rather appealing rear end.

There are several RRS that have been "treated" to an Urban "upgrade". They look yuck to my eyes. They mostly look like SVRs as the base, so at least they have a decent engine. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
2012 RRS SDV6

Not sure why they bother putting camouflage on it: the underlying vehicle is no looker so no one would pay it a second glance anyway. "Security by obscurity" Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

An improvement to the number plate for sure, but look at the "filled nappy" below it. 🤢

The camouflage is just an act of kindness by JLR.

Wouldn’t waste my money on a reformed rear end. You’ve got to cut the plastic boot lid. There’s no going back then.
I don’t know why you hate the rear so much, I think it’s an appealing and unique feature, stands you out from the crowd.

In terms of it being a styling reference to the real thing, it’s about as convincing as putting a plastic Georgian front door on a 1960’s terraced council house
However, stylistically, it does help to distinguish it from the Korean alternatives 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)

If you poverty spec it, its not as nice as the upper spec and yes it could be better - but it isnt that bad and does grow on you and is different...in the same way land rover is basically the only company that still puts the model on the bonnet.Mike
