who remembers the marmite styling of the D3 when it first came out?

personally I really like the look of the D5 apart from the number plate and boot contours but I wouldn't pay a grand to change just that. (id save the money for when it broke down Whistle Laughing )

At least you can buy them very cheaply now, for what it's still (probably) a very good car. I wouldn't though just because of it's totally wrong proportions. Late low mileages D4 are worth more than nearly new D5 SDV4s on this side of the pond... Shocked

Our very own Ken fitted a central number plate kit to one of his D5’s ages ago. An essential mod I’d say.

Maybe this thread should get moved to the Political Section?

You don’t like this, that and the other and apparently they’re worth nothing. Rolling Eyes

If you think your D3/4 is so superior, fine, keep it until it falls apart, just don’t feel the need to share your hatred of the replacement vehicle.

I think Startech were the first to market and the kit Ken used.

I know Powerful U.K. have a similar kit. 👍

It’s also the D3/4 forum and for some, myself included, the D5 isn’t an acceptable successor for a variety of reasons. Therefore the current D5 will always attract some “stick”, but also some praise on this forum.

Us former D3/4 owners have our own forums to visit if we’re looking for love. Smile

Personally, I don’t see why the site shouldn't incorporate the D5 particularly as it followed that the D3 site incorporated the D4 members. Just an opinion.

I think probably because they’re totally different vehicles as was the D1/2.

Agreed. For me the New Defender has it's DNA closer to the D3/D4s than the Disco 5, that's closer to the Discovery Sport, and should be actually badged as the Discovery Sport "L".
