I’ve seen what you have to do to get that look. It’s silly money. Personally I wouldn’t cut the boot to shove one of those inserts in. There’s no going back once you’ve done that unless you buy a new boot and I’d imagine it would reflect in used values.
Anyway, beings to look like an oversized Disco Sport, now that’s a look to avoid!

The DS styling/design is far easier on the eye (for me) than the D5. Painting the “nappy” makes it blend in better as well. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Probably old news to most but a mate in France is best mates with an engineer at JLR. Apparently they have been very disappointed with the D5 sales that it is to under go a new styling. The rear end / number plate is at the top of the list. May not be true but that’s what I have been told.James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Its the insert you cut totally reversible
I like it though and if you confuse a D5 with a DS you really should go to specsavers lol

Strangely I quite like the rear end of a D5, it's the front and the height of the waistline I don't like.

How to improve the rear of a D5 ......
...... and here was another drivers solution.
Covering the rear with high viz vinyl to distract the eye.
...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.

Wow how did they get it so wrong. At Goodwood this year one of the design team was telling me they're not selling like they hoped funny that.
Roll on the new Defender, I can't part with my cash for that D5 .
