Tried mine for the first time last night, air temp 7 degs(using the radio trick) set it to come on at 22.00hrs(set at 21.30hrs) turned the radio on and nav screen off then went for a balantines The beast fired up at around 22.05 and ran for 20ish minutes Reprogramed it for a 06.00 start this morning(radio off) but hey ho no joy The air temp was 10 degs so maybe just maybe......na I think I will be standing with the rest of you guys on this one!
It goes into the dealer for a rear DVD module change and a Hi software fix tomorrow so I will quiz them about the heater issue D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.
Departed RRS TDV8 HSE Full Arden kit in TEAL and colour coded everything.
Departed Disco 3 2.7 HSE
I never drive faster than I can see!

Guys, we have the best brains in the world trying to beat this one now. Not only that, they are the manufacturers of the equipment and they are liaising worldwide on it. Because the heater is made for LR under licence, LR keep the access codes to most of the heater to them selves. In fact they have written their own codes, which stops the manufacturer from accessing their own product.
The maker is trying hard to make a after market fix as the demand is now very high and they know that they can sell at least 100 units tomorrow in the UK alone. So don't bother asking your dealer at this time, they simply will not have the answer and you will not get anywhere.

I don't want a remote control for mine, if it means that I can have a timer controlled version now. Is the research at this stage BN - can I have a timer in my D3 to set tonight to turn on the heater tomorrow morning? Coffeecup

BN is right. Don't waste your breath, and add to global warming.....save your energy for more pleasant banter.
If you could sort the coding out, the fix ought to be quite straightforward. If the IHU is in standby mode, before it goes to sleep, the settings menu works fine. As soon as the clock disappears from the IHU display, the thing won't work - as you found last night.
With the radio on, the IHU timer is live and that is why the settings menu approach works. Now, if someone can figure how to alter the idle timeout on the IHU, even extending it to 12 hours for instance, then we'd be moving in the right direction. That might not be the right way of sorting it out, but it would work.
My view is that the missing element is something within the FFH and how it communicates with the CAN Bus connected components.

The answer is yes, but not yet. They have to make up the harnesses now, that is why mine has been removed. There is also the small issue of a voltage drop, which we think is the car deliberatly doing it to say the door or ignition is active to stop double control of the heater. It then has to be tested. I have a feeling that it will be ready by the end of the month, but don't hold me to it.

The LR dealers are blissfully in denial of all this! (at least Guy Salmon are) They still maintain that it is not connected and cannot work at all, except as a supplemental heater when the engine is running.
There is no way of getting it to work without the patented DISCO3.CO.UK Radio Trick
Cold this morning is'nt it! I have just washed mine and am now typing with numb fingers.

OK - I'll try Williams and see what they say
By the way - they appear to have fixed my suspension - suspect height sensor apparently - tempting fate nearly 1 month without bongs or messages - though their attempts to get the part where a real farce - I expected Brian Rix to appaer without his trousers at one pont - and then they delivered the wrong car back to me - class Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

Webasto Heater..
Hi
I have only tried it once , but I guess most of the guys have really mastered it...
Go into settings menu, select Heter on and time and ensure radio turned on at time heater is set for - hence pain in the on a cold morning
Gents, assume I am right Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

With the radio on and volume right down you could leave it overnight.
I flick it on when I walk the dog in the morning, nice warm car by the time I'm ready to use it 30mins later The End

If you use the Radio Trick, do you have to leave the ignition key in, as my radio switches off when I remove it?

I think what Slimer means is he sets the time on the settings menu the evening before, and when he goes out in the morning to walk his dog, he opens the car and turns the radio on, shuts the door locks it and takes Rover for his walkies.
So long as the set time is within an hour of him switching on the radio, it should work OK.
