Firstly sorry to hear this
Secondly, if the front wheel took that much of a knock on the kerb you may well be looking at a write off, sorry.
Thirdly think before you contact your insurance company. My lad had the same issue the owner admitted liability and put it through his own insurance and they paid for all the work in full and the hire car.
However and here is the rub, my lad followed due process and reported it to his insurance who did not pay out a penny, but when his renewal came through he had a no fault claim listed which meant his insurance went up by over £500.
The insurance confirmed that they had paid out nothing and were not out of pocket, they also confirmed that they knew my lad was not even in the car (car was parked) but they were still loading his policy............................................................MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I agree Russell, but I'm not quite sure I trust the company and with the worry over a potential write-off of a 2008 120k miles D3, I'm not sure I have any other options
Admiral have already agreed that this is a no fault on my part and excess and NCD will not be impacted, but I can guarantee you that my policy will go up next year.
But, I have 3 cars and house insurance with them, so hopefully they won't hike it by too much

@ RRST - I've mentioned potential damage to steering, tracking etc and my 2 front height sensors are now also flashing on the 4x4 screen Iggy/Ieuan

Insurance companies are getting wise to people fixing without going through insurance. Alot are asking if you've had an accident irrespective of whether it was yr fault or a claim was made.
Ignore disclosure at yr peril now it seems. b ds !! Today is the oldest you've been and the youngest you'll ever be again.

If I've read the reg number right, that's why he doesn't want to involve an insurance company.
I think I would be reporting it to the police

Could it be a business insurance which cover the driver in any vehicle? I think if work hires a vehicle for me it isn't insured but our policy covers me in any vehicle driven or loaned to the business. not 100% though.MY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

Sleep on it buddy. Nothing to be gained by knee jerk reactions, or trying to play the system. It's not your fault, and you need to start with telling your insurance.
If they are not insured, then it will be difficult, but I presume you have fully comprehensive insurance so you will get recompense.
Legal cover on your policy might be a bonus, if you have to sue someone or some company.

A couple of friends have "trade insurance" which covers them for any vehicle. They'll do anything to avoid making a claim though. As apparently the increase in premiums significantly increases, on a policy that already costs several thousand quid.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
