Nope, mine ain't brim to brim because to be honest I'm not too fussed but a range of 621 miles is pretty good going.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

My scientific training is ingrained. Accuracy comes automatically. 😇 SWMBO tells me off all the time to loosen up and chill. 😜 Anyway will be clocking up a few miles week after next on a run up the A9. Will do the arithmetic and see how it compares to last time.2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Back on topic... the subject of how few we see on the road is confusing.
I have it on very good authority that the dealers are posting great figures for the D5 and are very happy with sales so far. They are certainly being sold to a different demographic but I'm wondering where they all live? Maybe they are out there but we can't spot the difference between all the other SUV's??? 2005 D3 HSE 2011 D4 Landmark 2016 D4 HSE Lux

It is still a small number relative to the number of cars on the road, I have seen a few but then again I do not see may Discovery's compared to X5's,stc.

Well I spotted one today out in the Co. Durham countryside, first one in the wild so to speak
Aintree green as well, one of my favourites but still happy I went with the D4 instead
Cheers Ian

Spotted my first one in Cornwall this afternoon (previous two seen whilst on my travels).
Time is doing nothing for my opinion of them, if anything I dislike it even more now and I didn't think that was possible Andy

I spent last week driving the whole length of the M40, southbound in the morning to work and then back up on my way home, I saw loads of the things, I'd say on average more D5's than I saw D4's

McGovern and his colleagues have been paid a lot of money to design this car, LR have entrusted their future success to them and LR themselves will charge the buyer between around £45,000 and around £80,000 for the end result.
Is design where you may "get used to the shape of the rear, eventually! I think it may take a while..." really good enough?
The E60 BMW was an abomination compared to the E39 but I got used to it and actually really liked the fact that it was a different to what came before. Some of my favourite LP's are ones I didn't particularly care for in the beginning. Only time will tell with the D5.
I'm sure a modernised D4 shape would have had the critics accusing JLR of a cop out if they've launched that.

The BMW E60, now there's a design!
There are some growing similarities between Gerry McGovern and Chris Bangle although, to be completely fair to Gerry McGovern, he can at least claim to have come up with some good styling as well
While the shock of the E90 did dull with age, it's still the ugly duckling of the whole succession of 5 Series. However, on the positive side, I'll take ugly (as long as it's not pretentious-ugly) over dull any day!

Sorry, back on topic, I had "mine" for 5 days and 500 miles and didn't see another D5 on the road while I had it. To be fair, rural Devon and Cornwall are not the most likely places to find them.

Man, this picture of D5's front really reminds me of Forrest Gump's "Bubba"!
Could someone post his picture in here?
