I saw a white one parked out the back of Hampton Court Station today.
I pointed it out my my missus as we were sitting at a level crossing waiting for a train to pass. It was surrounded by a few other LR products. Mainly RRS, D4s and evoke.
She said "what the one with the spoiler - I don't like it" I then dropped the bomb that I had specced a replacement D4 and it was £70k. She couldn't believe it, but I then told her how much ours would have been when new! I don't think I will be getting a new one!!
I must admit I don't mind them in some angles, but have no real desire to spend my hard earned on one.
I am enjoying reading all the posts of the chaps who have one, and enjoying the pics, so keep them coming

I haven't seen one on the road yet and going past my local dealer 4 or 5 times a day, I haven't noticed their demonstrator move, also no customer collection photos on Facebook.
I agree I haven't seen any either.

I saw a nice red one with a black roof in Poole last week. People were pointing, children were crying, others were being sick and the birds went quiet. Did they have to make it that ugly?

But, the D3 was an evolution of the D1 and D2. Other than a pointlessly offset rear number plate and a cosmetic crease in the roof pressing, the D5's body shares nothing with what went before, so the analogy is perhaps a little flawed.
Having said that a friend, who has owned a D1 from the very start, tried to warn me off of the D4 because "of the need to remove the body to change the turbo" and "it's too big to green lane". He was right about the green laning though!
I wonder if the Shogun will pick any market share up here?2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

I didn't think it possible, but I think Mitsubishi has surpassed LR in the ugly rear contest.
But it has extras, that LR haven't even thought of. Apparently it has a huge cottage!?

Wonder if it has a cubby fridge full of cottage cheese?
What is it with car manufacturers, are they all trying desperately to get the Ugly Car of the Millenium Award?

Citroen certainly made a better job of it when they came up with that bit of styling in 2002:

The problem with designers is that creative and innovative design is no longer part of their skill base. It seems that ugly jelly molds is all they are taught to draw and just make it bigger or smaller. Just look at LR:
The Evoke, DS and D5 are the same car just just enlarged or shrunk to fit a size. Nothing really to differentiate them. Perhaps its a socilaist model. We are all equal and one shape fits all.
There is little that is distinctive anymore and I like to be an individual!D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

Advanced orders have only just started to be delivered this month, the odd car in February, but most have been dealer stock, I should have mine next Saturday, my salesmans been spot on with delivery estimates. Some are delayed due to the stolen engines, some due to the electrically deployable tow bar.
If the tow bar is electrically deployable does this mean any device I wish to tow has to be taken to a dealer to be programmed so that the tow bar will accept it else it won't come out to play. Why complicate things for the sake of it or is that the reason Defenders are going up in value so fast?
