Interesting to find out that earlier when dropping in my D4 that my local dealer has a D5 in their courtesy fleet so early into launch.

I've got mine in for an accident repair with a Discovery promised as a loaner; it might be for up to 3 weeks. I didn't realise D5's were already around as loaners; I'm slightly concerned now! Shocked

"This is exactly me! I had a second look and a drive of one the other day. The drive is excellent, I can't deny that, but the whole thing just left me cold. Ignoring all the flaws of the back seats and the silly tailgate I just couldnt get excited over it, in much the same way as I can't get excited by run-of-the-mill German cars or the Discovery Sport. It just didn't feel special and is 'just a car' now so I may as well save the money and buy something cheap! I'm out!"

"But then I took a look at the RRS parked next to it. Wow! It was in a different league and even just sitting in it it felt special, yet it was exactly the same price as the Disco. So whilst the new discovery is a MASSIVE miss for me personally, the RRS might be an option if it's big enough.[/quote]"

Wow, i felt just the same! The RRS appeals to me but i DO need a proper 7 seater to drive around my in-laws...
I guess i'll keep my D4 for many years to come till it dies. Crying or Very sad

It's all down to the title, perhaps too many cars made to fewer being needed ? .Even adverts on auto trader from L/R about deals as of yet i am yet to see one on the road in the flesh yet and i do quite a few miles around county.
New Range Rovers etc yes...Local Marshalls are similar no news on customers on Facebook pages?.

Concerned that it'll get under your skin and make you love it after all? Wink Laughing

With the extensive use of aluminium, another 12 years' worth of R&D and it being less compromised by the search for maximum space, practicality and a good view out, I'm sure that it'll be great and very car like to drive Thumbs Up

There's little doubt there, it's just the looks and the compromises on practicality that don't work for me; unfortunately, spending a few days with one won't change either! Wink

Thanks Andy. Unfortunately, someone drove into the back of mine while it was parked outside the office last week. They were honest enough to come in and 'fess up; it'll be a new rear bumper, wheel arch trim and a little paint and I won't be paying, so it's not really an issue Thumbs Up

Sorry to hear that, but at as you say at least they were honest to admit it, so that's something.

I haven't seen one on the road yet and going past my local dealer 4 or 5 times a day, I haven't noticed their demonstrator move, also no customer collection photos on Facebook.

I've seen one on the road near Roger Youngs at Saltash and another one, the same colour (the same one?), parked by Roger Young, outside the Cornwall Business Show at Wadebridge. It was being completely ignored Sad

Maybe we will see a lot of them dealer registered and used to turn over the loan and courtesy stock in the near future? If so, expect some highly proactive offering of extended test drives within the next two or three months Wink

Advanced orders have only just started to be delivered this month, the odd car in February, but most have been dealer stock, I should have mine next Saturday, my salesmans been spot on with delivery estimates. Some are delayed due to the stolen engines, some due to the electrically deployable tow bar.
